Xbox 360 sales: 1,426,525 (129,684 per week)

PS3 sales total: 1,569,805 (142,709 per week)"

There it is. The Xbox 360 is likely to be down by 100,000 coming into the 2nd half of the prediction where it really gets messy. A difference which is within the Vgchartz margin of error will seperate the two consoles.

I can't call it personally since I have too much stake in this but I doubt that many people would have believed in April or March of this year that the Xbox 360 and PS3 would be within a few thousand of each other on average weekly sales going into the critical Christmas season.

So the question is this: Will my prediction come true?

TBH in the wake of the recent price I think your prediction will become more than true.

Price drop and Maybe gears 2 may help it a lot in the coming months.

And darn it what's with the pink colors ! :P

Given the recent events it's completely possible, but the PS3 is still strong in Europe so it will be difficult to confirm until late november.

No I don't think it'll stay in front for long, these pricecuts have a tendency to boost tremendously short term but haven't yielded the massive permanent boost that many (including me) were expecting.
It will be a lot closer than it would've been had the price not been shaved though!

360 will outsell PS3 by 500k WW from October until Xmas.

Well, with last weeks 360 numbers falling... who knows.

I don't think the XBox 360 sales advantage in the US will be able to overcome the PS3 advantage in Japan/Others.

All numbers on all Three consoles in the USA  fell last week NOT just 360, Japan like and are now buying the 360 175w Falcons, Europe/others in 2 days of price cut(Cuts 18th Sept chart goes to 20th Sept) 360 now only 7,000 behind expect it to surpass PS3 there next week, sales of the 360 in the UK this week have been incredible.

If your prediction does come true, if may be more because of Nintendo than Sony.

If Nintendo cannot meet demand for the Wii again this holiday, many consumer may have to settle for a Arcade 360 instead.
