Me and my now estranged brother (we used to be close before he entered the priesthood) used to hit up hundreds of hours playing the various iterations of this game over and over again, especially streets of rage 2 (i was always max, he was always axel), in an attempt to beat the hardest mode of the game.. which we never did. those were the good old days of gaming, where repeating the same level didn't seem to get old.

anyone else had the same experience with sega's masterpiece series, and wish it to be remade in HD? :D

Streets of Rage 2 came bundled with the Sega Genesis my parents bought me one Christmas. My brother, friends and I used to spend hours playing it, and I still consider it to be one of my favorite games of all time. I have it on the VC and it would be awesome to see a new SoR on WiiWare, Live, and PN like Megaman 9. I need some more retro revivals : )

I think I used to play street of rage two.....who was the one with the rollerskates on? He was my fav :P

SoR II is amazing played it so much I coul beat it on "mania" loved the first one, never played the 3rd

Streets of rage 3 still makes my top 10 favourite games of all time. I did play it BEFORE Streets of rage 2...so that may have made it better that SOR2...as it is a better game. But not by much as Streets of Rage 2 is awesome.

I loved the first SOR game, but I didn't like the second or third as much. I still play the original with my friends.

It would be my favorite beat `n up series ever if it wasn`t for the broken 2 player mode. It is not as bad as Battletoads, but hitting your friends really ruins the game on the harder levels.

SOR was great, SOR 2 was a masterpiece, SOR 3 was piece of shit (Bare Knuckle 3 was good).

2's my fave in the series.

Street's of Rage was awesome.

 I don't see how you can say that when its the exact same game minus a boss fight, few costume changes and with a different story. The gameplay mechanics are exactly the same...which is what counts.
