im just curious if ppl are gonna get Play TV and wats the big hype about it? wat does it do?
well it is a dvr that saves tv shows on your ps3 thats about all
also its not avaliable in the US yet and probalby wont be for a while

My prediction: NATAL WILL NOT help 360 sales. Maybe a 50-100k boost week 1, then a 30-70 k boost week 2, and back to the norm again after 3-5 weeks.
I bought one, I like it.
It only works with DVB-T signal. Which is the standard here in France, and is available in most of Europe.
It's a good DVR, with a very good and very stylish "user interface".
I'm really happy with it. Now, all my media in the living room is handled by my PS3.
I read that they already sold 80000 units of it. Don't know if it's customers or retailers though.

If you don't already have a DVR with time-lapse capabilities then trust me it is going to change the way you watch TV from now on...
And it is so much cheaper than any other DVR (since you already paid for the PS3) and there are no subscription fess. It's Win-win if you're asking me...

Yes, but I have to wait till it comes to NA. It is my most wanted peripheral/accessory for the PS3. It lets you save shows on your HD when you are not at home (or watching another channel I believe).

It's a good idea but so many cable and satellite companies just throw DVR's at you now as part of the basic service and part of the actual cable box that I really don't think this is going to do too well.
For I believe like $5 extra a month I have an HD DVR that can record 2 shows at once while I'm watching something else and now they even have ones that can record 3 or more shows at once. Sure, I'm paying $5 a month to rent their DVR but it's part of my cable box and I don't have to leave my PS3 on so it's quite nice.
Actually, come to think of it, I don't think I know anyone who doesn't have a DVR. Even my parents and grandma have one and they live in the middle of BFE.
Also remember who the PS3 is catering too: the people with too much money to waste and people who are already interested in these sort of things.
I know there are people that do exist that do not have a DVR and has or plans to get a PS3, but they really aren't the majority and I doubt that's the selling factor.

for me its fifteen bucks a month so it may be worth it
