Forums - Nintendo - The Wii's current lack of mature content games: temporary or terminal?

Thats why I include casual games on the topic, a game that have rating Mature really not subject a game to be just played by adults or not, its ESRB's own opinion on which game is Mature and which is not.

What? I am totally lost...

The arguement stem from people complaining that M rating doesn't neccessarily constitue mature content (which wasn't the topic to begin with).

...Then it was countered with: you cannot categorise mature because its define on an individual level.

...For which the imediate rebuttal was a set of attribute that should be considered mature and an example of a game the have this attribute

...Which was then followed by me stating the example did not have the describe attribute and was infact the opposite.

...Only for argument to then shift to the fact that because Space Invader is considered casual the whole argument is negated and its automatically considered a mature game?

I am not arguing that Space Invader is a mature game, I am arguing that the game bdbdbd use as an example of a mature game flies in direct contradiction to his own description of what constitute it.

He is in essence shooting himself in the foot.

Im only countering your post mibuokami you know, and I think you're in different course when you're countering bdbdbd I've read his post, its nothing got to do with Space invaders.

And are we still talking about Mature games here? ANYWAY...

bdbdbd's post has got to do with adults, and what they like about the game not Mature rated games themselves. Thats why if it have blood and gore and gorgeous graphics doesnt mean the game is mature and it caters automatically caters to adults. Thats what his first post about this topic is all about. Thats it. What I dont get is why the sudden counter debate about it?

You're confused because we're all confused, even I was confused are we discussing the rating system of different countries yesterday? Like I said mature games have different interpretation and is subjective, anything as long as it didnt cater exclusively to toddlers can be a mature game. Even space invaders can be considered to be mature game. Its the ESRB that complicating things. Your thread supposed to be violent games in general than mature games.

Wii is focusing permanently this generation with the Wii on a non-violent video game approach in trying to capture more market share by attracting casual/ non-gamers onto the Wii bandwagon.

If people are not happy with Wii's business approach with focusing on family/casual games. It is a very simple thing just buy either a PS3 or X360 or PC, that have the more mature/violent games that you want to play. There is no need expressing your unhappiness to anonymous people on forums who do not care.

I got my answer tyvm :)

The debate raging here now has nothing to do with my initial topic anymore, but its interesting nontheless so I continue to post here.

What Im confused is how you got the answer, did you answer your own question in the OP post mibuokami? And you only want us to debate about it?

To Sum up my initial post:

Me: Hey guys, there appears to be a severe lack of M rated games on the Wii, why do you think that is? Do you think it will continue?

People: Yea there isn't much M rated games, but there are a few gems here and coming soon such as: A/B/C. Suck it up as this is probably permanent.

So you're really into violent games arent you? Do you like FPS and God of War series?

FPS = PC Only
GoW = hell yes, I also love the other genre staple DMC. Its my taste which I've freely expressed.
