Nah I would think on par with a slim PS3 and at most 1/2 of a slim wii.

If it was real, it would sell a lot of units. Especially if it launched with Halo 4, which is also yet to be real.

What would be the draw for the 360 slim? All the current owners would be unable to use their hard drive and probably their wireless adapters(since wireless isn't built in). Does anyone really think the reason the 360/xbox have yet to take off in sales relates to it being a bit fatter then the Wii? I guess it could serve to be a clean break with the bad reputation of the current fat 360, but beyond that...

The reason the PS2 slim was a big deal is that it was accompanied by a huge price cut and was REALLY slim. I don't see how the 360 can possibly be slimmed to that size with the much greater heat it produces and the addition of a hard drive. They could use flash memory instead but that would just jack up the cost.

Also given the shady Microsoft history of product design I can see with 99.9% certainty a pretty high failure rate if they mix up the production again. I mean it took them at least 3 years to get the 360 to stop failing in its current form, how in the world would they condense everything even more (more heat from closer quarters without as much circulation) without returning to the RROD days? (or I guess red flat LCD light of death in a slim model).

The only way it would be a success is if they also made it 129 dollars PS2 slim style, but I don't think it would sell much more then if they just made the normal 360 cost 129 dollars.

Wii slim? It´s already slim, isn´t it? smaler than that it´ll be the size of a DS. There´s no need for one slim wii. It´s good looking, lgth and small. The PS has a tradition of getting a slim version, so let´s hope is as good looking as this one. The x360 can see a surge in sales because of the promise of reliability. How many old x360 owners will get a new to escape rrod, plus it will be ligther and better looking(probably). So WII>ps3slim>x360slim(I´m a sony fan, but a don´t believe wii will go down in sales, i´m realistic)

First, everything else besides your question isn't worth reading.

Second, let me enlighten you, at your request.

A. The slimmer box is more popular in Japan and Others simply due to size and efficiency.

B. The slimmer box will probably have less problems from a hardware perspective than the current box. Finally fix that RRoD.

C. The slimmer box will be percieved by everyone to have fixed RRoD. That's its main purpose.

D. The slimmer box will be accompanied by an ad campaign.

E. Besides drawing in the usual customers, this add campaign will create buzz aroud the 360, because having a slim is an interesting move to even non-gamers.

F. The slim could have greater functionality than the phat, like the DS lite.

G. A reissue creates demand for any console. Change the color of your PSP? Sell more units for 2 weeks. Much less a redesign.

H. MS can redesign the poorly designed 360.

I. Maybe cheaper to make?

J. Definitely cheaper to ship.

Basically it's the same reason the PS2, DS, and PSP came out with revamped versions of their hardware. Because it improves on the original designe, quality, refreshes sales, and raises interest. Also, if your original product had an issue, it helps your public perception regaurding that, by creating a clean slate.

Thinking that a slim anything won't increase sales of the thing, is silly. Look at everything, ever.

In a climate when you want to shop around your mainstream 199 price point, accompanying that with a lot of buzz, which will come from the slim, along with the perception that the slim is superior hardware, and you'll see a sales increase. Probably a big one. If the PS3 had a slim version, and was selling for 199, watch out.
