Nope, it wasn't real, and after the prese conference, he mentioned something like it was the third FF game from Square or whatever.

Just like you said, he most probably hoped to make himself trustworthy by betting that Sony would announce a big game and later to tell us "I told you so".

There was a similar stuff going on PlayStation Lifestyle website which keeped people's hope high, until it was later confirmed to be nothing more than a huge lie.

 First of all the thing at Playstation Lifestly wasn't a lie. they did announce a game and many people guessed the game based on the hints they gave out. The game they announced was a sequel to Hardware: Online Arena.

Second of all SSJ12 said that it might also end up being shown at TGS instead of E3 and his insider tips have given us early news on games before. so I see no reason to distrust him.

Hello everyone, one day, a huge game will be announced for PS3!!! You heard this first in here!!! And yes I have an insider tip!!! But I am not allowed to say anything!!!

 So, that game could be anything, he can choose any game at TGS and say "That was the game I was talking about", the only thing I know, he couldn't prove anything he said at that time, and he didn't give any detail so that we can see the resemblance of the game he was talking about.

Only thing he said, was the game is from a Japanese developer, Have better graphics than Killzone 2, and will be announced at E3. Frankly, I can make better prediction than that and make it look like an insider info.

Oh, when I talked about PlayStation Lifestyle, I wasn't referring to Hardware 2, there was another 'insider info' in there, which they said that Square will unveil the orginal FFVII for PSN and XBL, and announcing the remake of FFVII for PS3 at DKΣ3713.

Best part? Lame excuses, like SSJ12's excuse was Kaz changed the show in last minute, and PlayStation Lifestyle is not gonna show the trailer of Hardware 2 which they promised to show, even though they have the trailer.

You could check his thread, and like I said in my previous post, he mentioned that there.

It was really lame, not just becasue all of Square Enix's team are working on other projects right now, but becasue all of Square Enix's next gen games as of now will be made with their Crystal Tool, and how could they make another FF while they have two games in production with an engine that hasn't being completed yet.

Oh, before someone tells me the use of UE3 on The Last Remnant, I know that, but they mentioned most of their high end game will be produced by White Engine, yes it was named White Engine when they said that, so maybe, just maybe, they have changed their policy, but why would they change it since CT will be one of the best engine, especially for RPGs, according to Square Enix.

-Soriku, I think there was a patent OR a rumore for another FFXIII game, it was Final Fantasy Melody XIII.
