Forums - Nintendo - Third party Wiimotes

Have any of you tried out a third party wiimote?

My wife and I were in gamecrazy last wiik, err week, and we saw what looked like a third party wiimote for much cheaper than a regular one.  I was wondering if it was real, or some kind of case or something (I didn't look to closely at it.)

I personally have thought that Nintendo haven't "opened" the bluetooth for third parties officially.
Are you sure it wasn't the ripoff made for PC?

Eikä Japanisti.

Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

Not sure. Like I said I didn't look at it closely. Yeah I didn't hear anything about third parties, and it doesn't seem logical to me that A) a third party would make it a lot cheaper (this was like 20 bucks) and 2)Nintendo wouldn't have dropped MSRP or had some kind of "answer" to it.

End result I wasn't paying too much attention to my wife, I probably shouldn't (semi)ignore her like that too much.

Im surprised theres a 3rd party Balance board. Highly doubt there is a 3rd party wii mote that isn't already being sued into bankruptcy though.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Theres a third party balance board? Really??

I would advice you to stay away from 3rd party Wii controllers. You might think you are getting a bargain but believe you me that is far from the case. 3rd parties couldn't even come close to getting a Gamecube controller right (if you don't know what I mean go and play Super Monkey Ball with a 3rd party Gamecube controller and then play the game with the Nintendo controller and see the difference). The chances that they would be able to get the Wii remote right are as high as the chances of me learning how to fly. Unfortunately you are much better off putting up with the expensive Nintendo controllers.
