Forums - Nintendo - Will Wii Sports Resort ONLY be compatible with Wii Motion Plus?

Well duh. Wouldn't really make sense to release the game with MP and then make it work without the device. :p

of course it's going to require WMP. the entire reason for the game is to showcase WMP just like wiisports was there simply to showcase the wiimote.

the real question is how many of the games require 2 wiimotes with WMP. buyers are going to be pissed if they buy the game and find out they have to go back to store to buy another WMP accessory just to play half the games.

well.. with boxing, tennis and baseball in wiisports, you needed two controllers to play multiplayer.. and only one wii remote is packed in.. noone seemed to complain then

No. Wii Sports Resort will also be bundled with a Gamecube controller since it will also show of the capabilitites of it as well.

No that would adversely effect sales of the game. A lot of people would not buy Wii Motion Plus.So it would be compatible for all controller options.

I wonder if new Wiis will be bundled with Wii sports resort and WMP

 Eventually.

I was thinking about this the other day and I started to wonder; what if Wii Sports Resort is not going to be a sequal to Wii Sports, but a repacement.

If I'm not mistaken, Nintendo have stated that WSR is going to feature 10 events. I'm thinking 5 of those will be enhanced versions of Tennis, Baseball, Bowling, Golf and Boxing. All of them could benefit from WMP after all (with the possible exception of boxing.)

Then as Peetee suggested new Wiis come packed with WSR and WMP, also extra remotes come with WMP. A new version of Wii Play would not be out of the question either.

Hmm .. I hope that we will see more of those 10 games on the Oct 2 conference.
