Just take some most wanted announced game,

what will we find :

exclusive PS3 : LBP/Killzone/MGS

exclusive xbox360 : ME / Bioshock / Halo

exclusive Wii : Metroid/Mario kart/Mario Galaxy

third developpers multiplateform most wanted :

GTA4/AC/PES2008/RE5/CoD4/UT3

I mean, I dont have any evidence for this, but I m sure u understand that right now, except for what is coming from Nintendo themselve, Wii still doesnt have big third party that should appear in a most wanted list.
Right multiplateform developpement is excluding the wii and, I think, this is a bad point for her.

I'm sorry, I lied, one more thing.

Since when do multiplatform games beat exclusive games?

As far as I'm concerned, the Wii has more exclusive 3rd party games than any other current system.  The PS3 and 360 share almost all 3rd party games...which isn't neccessarily bad, but they're not exclusive.  The PS3 has a couple and the 360 has a couple...the most exclusives for them come from 1st and 2nd parties though.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Just as a note: The Wii is already now seeing more exclusive quality 3rd party support than the last two Nintendo consoles had and it only seems to get better in the future considering the sales of the Wii. An improvement over the past decade can already be seen in the current 3rd party support. 3rd parties are finally coming back to Nintendo and some of them are already working on serious projects and not just minigames collections and cash ins.

I didn't say it isn't. The Wii is definitely doing a lot better in 3rd parties than the last two Nintendo consoles this early in the console's life.

I'm sure some 3rd parties will make great games like No More Heroes or Zack and Wiki but the rest are seeing the Wii as the budget console for cheap cash in games so far.

That might change in the future but I see the big corporations as trying to make the cheapest possible game to try and make the most money off of it.

Actualy so far it is those companies that has done a good job that has been rewarded. Ubi even stated that they did wrong to try to cash in with dirty cash in ports from PS2. So as longer it goes I think we can be pretty sure to get some nice games on the Wii, so far I can say that I think that the xbox360 + PS3 + PC list has more games with a higer budgett, but they doesn't have that many games that I think I want (mostly because I isn't a FPS fan). So far I see good efforts from Sega and Capcom on Wii and I hope that they get the money they deserv, sadly I think that Zak and Wiki will bomb horrible.

I think what many consol owners or people that is discussing is that those who buy a Wii doesn't want the same genres one more time, they want something new. Hopefully Wii will get games like Zak and Wiki, not "WW fps 25".

@ckmlb and Bodhesatva

I don't think you two should discuss the quality of any title, you doesn't have the same gaming genres. Bodhesatva I think you even started a thread about were you stated your opinion on the existing gaming genres, I think you more or less said that all FPS was garbarge aimed for young males.

No one is claiming they are all better ckmlb, just that we are simply seeing a shift in developer support towards the Wii, which will in time produce good games. You seem to be oblivious to this shift though and rather than accept it you just say "they are all crap." That's fine, you can not like them if you want, but the shift is still there, and it's unbelievably obvious, even so early in the Wii's life. Can you imagine what it will look like this time next year when developers have had time to develop for the system they claim they are focusing on this generation?

Yet again someone who puts words in my mouth as me saying all third party games on Wii are crappy even though literraly every time I posted in this thread I've tried to point out the Wii 3rd party games that I think are wonderful and actual good third party support.

But there seems to be a campaign here that whoever criticizes the Wii, its 3rd party support or the direction of Nintendo is a fanboy and should be deligitimized.

If it makes you all feel more comfortable to call me crazy or a fanboy or whatever to convince yourselves that third party support is in great shape and whatever then I don't see this trend changing.

hilarious how you call everyone a "wii fanboy" and then complain about being called a fanboy when no one called you that.

"Wii are legion, for Wii are many"

Drop the "Wii 3rd party support is all mini game or cash in ports" argument. This will be obsolete in a few months. Like a good fanboy you should innovate and move to the "Wii life span is 5 years, PS3 will last 10 years".

There have been big 3rd party announcements all year for the 360 and PS3.

There weren't many new games announced at E3, but everyone was talking about how the Wii was gonna have a turn around with 3rd parties at E3 and nothing of the sort happened.

So when is this big 3rd party support supposed to come? I expect some Japanese support at TGS but I have no idea if they're gonna be any big games.

I don't remember people suggesting specifically lots of 3rd party Wii stuff, though MoH Wii with 32 player online was pretty huge. Personally, I have said time and time again that since 3rd parties didn't anounce shift in focus for the Wii till a couple months ago, you won't see the effects of this shift till 2008. People jump on any opportunity to criticize the Wii though, so the creation of this topic does not surprise me (nor does your reply ckmlb).

As far as TGS goes, it won't necessarily be Wii focussed but it will certainly be Nintendo focussed. DQIX and all those SE projects that are for Nintendo systems will take top stage. The Japanese don't care for the PS3 or 360 much, so I don't expect a whole lot of attention paid to those systems at TGS from 3rd parties. FFXIII may make an appearance, but again it's second stage to DQIX.

Edit: Source shouldn't you have Katamari on there from Namco for Wii games? It was confirmed that the PS3 version was dropped in favor of a Wii version (a nasty little blow and certainly evidence of a shift).

Well said, naznatips.

Simple: Third parties made up their minds before the Wii launched that they would support PS3/360. Analysts did not expect it to sell, no one did. The PS3/360 projects coming out have been in development for a while.

Once the Wii showed that it was here to stay, many third parties have begun to support it. Sure, quite a number of projects are quick cash ins, because they want to make some money this holiday season. They know the Wii is selling, will be selling in the holiday season. They are not going to have big projects ready, so they get out whatever they can. All of the simple/mini-games/ports are coming out this year. I did not hear any company announcing mini-games for 2008. They are putting everything in for the holiday. It is a last-minute strategy.

Alongside these, however, there ARE good games coming. And, in 2008, we will see some of the bigger projects that third parties are cooking up. You could speculate that they are not coming, but I say they are being developed as we speak.

 @ckmlb,

What I posted earlier, which you just happen to overlook, explains the current situation.

As you said, games like No More Heores are what the Wii needs. However, Suda51 showed their support for the Wii early. Hence, why we are getting a quality title. Capcom and Konami, Zack and Wiki and Deweys Adventure, also unique solid titles that are coming to the Wii (Although I will admit that they look a tad to kid friendly for my own taste, but the gameplay seems uniqe andgreat).

I have argued this many many times: Western based companies are the main leaders of casual stuff for the Wii. They are also some of the latest to realize the Wii's potential, and the ones throwing us some shovel ware. They have, along with many other big third party develpers, their bigger projects, which they started before they saw the success of the Wii, coming to the 360/PS3 this year and early next year. I wont argue that.

But as you said yourself, "Believe me there is almost nothing on PS3 or 360 3rd party that I want to play as much as No More Heroes on the Wii." We just have to wait longer, because no one saw what a huge success the Wii would be.

Oh, and Rygar is not a port of the PS2 game, it's a sequel. Maybe you are the one who should get your facts straight.

You do realize one of the most highly regarded games in the PS3 library right now available is Ninja Gaiden Sigma? A remake of a several year old last gen game from the Xbox as well? Note that according to metacritic.com, the HIGHEST ranked PS3 game is...OBLIVION. Another port of a game that's already seen on the PC and 360 and that actually runs the best and looks the best on a PC.

Which do you do has a bigger potential to change how you play and enjoy an interactive videogame: more up to date graphics or adding motion controls to change how you interact with it?

So whether or not Rygar is good or not, your argument is condemning the PS3 as well.

If you're one of the people who though that the way video games were played was bad or something and you seem to be then by all means for you the Wii is a great change of pace. I never thought that and am very happy with the way video games are going and improving and even my criticisms certainly weren't about the lack of motion control in games so to me no the Wii isn't more enjoyable in the case of Wii Play or Wii Sports or whatever. There are games on the Wii that I want and that's why I have a Wii but they are the traditional games not the new Wii genre.

I didn't condemn the Wii because of Rygar being a port, I mentioned it because it's not an exclusive game as listed here plain and simple.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

ckmlb, you misunderstand everything. You change everything. The argument. The point of the topic. I KNOW you're not a fanboy; a fanboy would be someone like that troll a few days ago. A person that blindly defends his system and flames others, going as far as being banned for it, as you have observed.

The problem is, you just keep changing the argument, and therefore you create more problems. More debates. You never accept your losses. And then you blame all of it on us.

There's EA and Ubisoft and they are both huge and believe me, there are a lot of unannounced games in the work from A LOT of developers. I was interviewing a few months back along with a good number other friends and most of the studios we talked to had Wii games in the works. I doubt all of them will ever see the light of day, but a good amount of them will be released.

Everything announced from EA and Ubisoft so far has been mini game collections, simple little games, ports or multiplatform games. Doesn't sound like much 3rd party support to me.

I love how you completely count mini games as worthless. Rayman Raving Rabbids is on my list of 10 favorite games because it is just fun. As for things like MySims and the likes, can't wait to see those. Just because you don't like the games don't immediately discount them as terrible and worthless.

Also, way to talk down on multiplatform games here and then include them in your list of research later.

Oh, and one more thing: can't believe nobody has talked about Dragonball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2!

All right there's no point in arguing with people who want quantity over quality.

I'm sure you will all enjoy Playground and Carnival Games since you are championing them.

You don't see me going around trying to tell people how great some crappy low budget title is on the PS3 or 360 but you guys seem to defend every single game no matter how small or unimportant it is because you are Wii fanboys.

Yes. Yes. I will enjoy Carnival Games. Why is that so hard to understand? Stop mocking these games, other people enjoy them! If you don't, fine! I would personally mock games like "To End All Wars," as they look incredibly generic. Another first person world war shooter? Hurray!

Here's a bet, Ck: there are more World War FPSers in development right now than mini game party compilations. I'm not entirely sure that's true, but it's certainly close and up for debate.

I would bet a one month ban on that. Hell I would bet one of my balls on that.
