Whenever it's time to criticize the PS3 and 360 games he points out that they are violent teen games but for the Wii those games are perfectly fine and should be bought.

Name one violent Wii game I plan to buy, please. Thanks! |
Why did you ask people to buy RE: UC in the RE: UC thread? |
Wow. I've now replied to this four times, including the thread where we originally discussed this topic. Ck: You are going to buy RE:UC you hypocrite! Me: No, that was a joke. Clearly so, as I literally ordered every person to buy it. I have neither played nor owned a Resident Evil game since the Playstation 1. Ck: So you're going to buy it. Hypocrite! Me: No, it was a joke. Ck: So you're buying it. Me: Please stop, that's a lie. Ck: So you aren't not saying that you're not buying it? |
Certainy the ordering part was a joke but telling people to buy the game, how is that a joke? I wonder if you would have ever come up with this explanataion had I not asked you as to why you are interested in this game. Another question, if you are so against violent games supposedly, why do you play them on the PC? Or are violent gaems on the PC somehow more 'mature' than console games of the same genre? |
I've answered the PC question many times as well, but I'll repeat it here for you.
I'm not especially fond of the violence inherent in Team Fortress, Starcraft, or Warcraft. But there are two reasons I play games: for relaxing fun with my girlfriend/family, and for skill when I'm alone. Those are my personal two reasons. This is also why I specifically said that Ninja Gaiden Sigma was the ultimate reason to own a PS3 (and game pad) in your own thread: that is a game that can be played for skill.
I'd certainly prefer that professional gaming started having less games about killing each other, but as of right now, that's really not an option. There are very few skill based games in existance that are competitive multiplayer games. I can either play Starcraft/CS/TF/UT/Warcraft, or I can not play games professionally at all.
If I want to play with my family, I can play the Wii. If I want to earn money, I will play my PC. My problem is that, generally speaking, the 360/PS3 have all the downsides of the PC for me (heavy violence) combined with all the downsides of the Wii (not particularly skill-oriented). The games are violent and not particularly skill oriented.
But I have -- specifically and routinely -- pointed out games that I do like for the PS3/360, and I think it shows my consistency. I said I liked Ninja Gaiden Sigma; I also like Virtua Fighter a great deal; I have several times (including in this thread) shown my affection for Afrika and Little Big Planet.
Those are games that are either highly skilled or family oriented. If PS3/360 games fit either of those descriptions, I will certainly say that I personally enjoy them, but most games for those two systems are not -- especially the flagship titles, such as God of War and Heavenly Sword.
