When do you predict WW sales for Wii Fit to overtake GTA IV?

Wii Fit had a significant head start in Japan, however GTA had a great first week, but has quickly leveled off.

My guess, Wii Fit will overtake GTA IV (PS3 and 360 combined) by the first of the year.  It's still supply constrained in USA, but I suspect that Nintendo is stock piling.

I always expected this to happen, but didn't really think it would be until mid to late 2009...  Only mention it because of all the excitement at GTA numbers and how some people (largely not on this site) claimed that Wii Fit would never (lifetime) come close to GTA IV numbers.

But they're not here, are they? Most people, including ioi, agreed that Wii Fit would sell more. And now it seems fairly likely that Mario Kart Wii could outdo GTA4 and I remember ioi stating that GTA4 would win by about 3 million.

My bold prediction last year was that Wii Fit would outsell GTA 4....at a ratio of... 2:1

so I expet wii fit to definetely cross 20 million in the long run

Oopps.  I meant to post in the sales discussion forum.  I had more then one tab open, and must of went back to the wrong one after making the graph link.

I am sticking to what I said, Wii Fit will reach 1/3 of all Wii sales and stay at that ratio till the end of Wii consoles life (or till the Balance Board is sold separately)

As for GTA 4, I'm sure Wii Fit will pass it by christmas at the latest.

Even if most people agree it will happen, it's still worth discussing when...  All can expect boosts from Christmas (unless Nintendo isn't stock piling Wii Fit).

Interesting about Mario Kart...  So do you think Mario Kart Wii will do it first, or Wii Fit?  I think I am going to stick with Wii Fit, even though it's been out longer and Maro Kart currently has more sales.  However, Mario Kart has dropped down slightly, and Wii Fit is still going as strong as ever.

Wii Fit depends on supply.

So while I can't be accurate (not knowing how much supply Nintendo has for Christmas) I think Wii Fit will pass GTAIV in mid December, but due to launching in Japan in 2007, it will just miss out on outselling it for 2008.

Mario Kart I think as a chance to pass GTAIV this year, but I am expecting the first or second week of January instead.
