Forums - Nintendo - Miyamoto has lost it.

And I'm very disturbed by the cracks that imply that if this game is for those 12 and under that it's somehow a money grubbing trick, a fraud and a failure.

I know the hard core believe the entire universe was created for their sole benefit but actually there are a lot of very avid gamers under 12 and they deserve their own games, or did you intend that they should be playing GTA.

@Grampy: Well, you're right. But, the most "hardcore" are the kids under 12 and yes, they do play GTA since they are the ones who get the most out of the game, since their life is the most limited by rules, when GTA offers seemingly freedom (the opposite to their life). And of course, playing 16+ or 18+ rated games makes them feel grown-ups.

@Smash Brother: Thanks for clarification. I thought you were meaning the definition which equals "art" with "creativity".

@bdbdbd
If you're right then I don't suppose anyone at all will buy the game and that will teach him a lesson. That'll be the end of that.

That's not what's implied. This game is ridiculously bad and not fun in any kind of way for every age group from 0-99. (As far as can be seen from current trailers, demos ...)

A bad game is a bad game. Even if it has the Wii in front of it. It looks like shit. People playing it look ridiculous and bored. It sounds like a hell. The controllers are no good fit for instruments (because of that Rock Band and Guitar hero bring you controllers that actually RESEMBLE INSTRUMENTS. A great idea)

And no just because grown-up gamers don't like it, kids are not required to love it. Some games can be hated by all age groups.

"A bad game is a bad game."

No. I disagree.

What you (not you, you as in directed towards anyone) think is a bad game, isn't necessarily a bad game for someone else.

Currently we have seen some very small parts about Wii Music, and suddenly it's Wii Fit all over again (maybe even worse).

I haven't made up my mind about this game yet, and I think you shouldn't prejudge it, at least not this quickly.

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS

@Grampy: Haha, i wasn't meaning "hardcore" that way, just the "avid gamer" as you did too. I worded it badly though. I just wanted to point out, that the audience for GTA games tends to be audience that shouldn't play it, and the reason why they play it, is the same reason why they will want Wii Music, which is freedom.

@Kyros: Actually Wii Music is the one that resemble instruments. In the end, Guitar Hero is only a "button masher", which has nothing to do with music, and it only offers pushing the buttons when you're told to, when Wii Music is supposed to offer the freedom of real instruments.

Which isn't true of for example the drums in Rockband. Which at least give you some feedback instead of the laughable air hitting that is Wii Music. Have you seen the idiot at E3?

when Wii Music is supposed to offer the freedom of real instruments.

Yeah sure this seems to be working perfectly. Waving your controller around just isn't exactly the same as controlling the airflow when playing saxophone etc. And playing a violin requires more then waving your arm around.

isn't necessarily a bad game for someone else.

I didn't say that this is the case necessarily. I said its the case in this specific instance. I don't like sport games (fifa, madden ...) but they are great games for someone else.

But Wii Music is simply bad. Really bad. Really really really bad. Some games are just turds (Crusin, Ninjabread Man, Haze, Vampyre Rain, Wii Music)

Have you played Guitar Hero? It's nothing but a button masher. You could play the game with Buzz controller, there's that much of playing an instrument.

No, it's not the same. But you can play whatever you like, however you like (of course, in gameplay, this appears to be limited to pre-set songs, when playing individual instruments, seems to have the "real" freedom). Which is the whole idea of Wii Music.

Look, your complaint is about not being able to play the the instruments as the real instruments in Wii Music, but somehow it's great when you are even more limited to do that in Guitar Hero.

OK, you made a very bad comparision, the games you mentioned are games that have been put near to none effort in it, except Wii Music, which was one of the demo games in TGS 2005, when Wii Remote was unveiled.

Have I mentioned Guitar Hero in the post you answered to? And at least Guitar hero has the same amount of buttons as a Guitar has strings which are positioned like they are on a real guitar. So you have something resembling a guitar in your hands instead of a white stick bound by a cord to a white "egg".

Which is the whole idea of Wii Music.

an "idea" is nice but the execution is shitty. Colossally shitty.

but somehow it's great when you are even more limited to do that in Guitar Hero.

You seem to be very focused on Guitar Hero. You do not seem to like for example the drums in Guitar Hero 4 or Rock Band?

that have been put near to none effort in it

Can you tell me with a straight face that Wii Music looks polished to you? It looks horrible. It sounds terrible. And even if they put a huge amount of effort in it the results seem to be simply bad.

Um, how is Guitar Hero in any way a button masher? Isn't a button masher a game where hitting buttons randomly works just as well as learning how to play properly?

That sounds more like a description of the gameplay in Wii Music. Button mashing will get you absolutely nowhere in Guitar Hero.
