Forums - General - What's the nerdiest dream you've ever had?

Inspired by Puffy's THQ Conduit dream thread, what's your nerdiest dream?

For me, it was probably when I dreamt I got to see The Dark Knight before it came out. The film had a heavy emphasis on the Joker's college days. It led to this exchange the next morning.

Me: I dreamt I saw Dark Knight last night, except it had some of our friends in it.

Friend: Really, how was it?

Me: Pretty good, but dark. Tacha was the Joker's abused girlfriend and Andrew, Austin and Joel were ripped apart by Zombies.

Friend: Zombies? ok... How was Batman?

Me: Don't know, he wasn't in it.

So what do you nerds dream about at night?

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

I've only had one nerdy dream that I can remember, back when I used to play runescape and I had just gotten Halo 3 a few days earlier, I had a dream where the games mixed and became one. It was like halo 3, but in a castle with elites and spartans in armor with swords, using magic and stuff like that, it was really fun, very vivid dream because I was basically playing Halo 3 all day and night, got burned into my head.

Hmmm that's interesting. I had a RS dream as well. Spending 14 hours grinding STR and HP leads to many odd dreams. *shudders*

About time I remember my password...

I remember when the original Xbox was released, I dreamt I woke up in the middle of the night and discovered I had already bought the Xbox, and I was soo excited!

I dreamt I went back to bed, and then dreamt I woke up in the morning, and discovered it wasn't there, it was "just a dream." Then I continued to dream of the entire next day of a typical day of school, then coming home to discover I really had bought the Xbox! I was just going crazy I assumed. Then I dreamt I went back to bed.

Then, I finally woke up for real and realized all of this had been one big dream, and I was disappointed I didn't have an Xbox. Even though I never really wanted one, I wanted a Gamecube.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

I don't remember the entire dream, but these bits have been haunting me since that night.... I think this will, sadly, win the thread:

I dreamt I was my NE Druid in WoW but I still had the UI and I was watching over my shoulder. Either that or it was just me dreaming I was playing WoW.

Here is one I wrote in my dream journal.

A zombie apocalypse had occurred, so I was sitting up-top my highschool with a rifle just popping zombie's heads. Eventually Samus Aran came and saved me. (In the Fusion Suit) After that it kind of plummeted into a... yeah... That's all you need to know about that. But after a while things degraded until the zombies were doing the weather forecast.

I had fallen asleep on the couch watching Fox News. Dang Republican zombie/bounty hunter propaganda!

When I was still in school I had nightmares about my coding class work all the time. Man those days royally sucked.

I had some pretty crazy Disgaea related dreams when I bought Disgaea 1 and would play it for like 8 hours a day.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

My nerdiest dream was about me getting a PS3.

But when I woke up, my pajamas were wet.

I blame LBP.

Lets see...

I've had a Dream where I WAS Megaman.

I had a Dream where i was being chased by the "Wizard" from "The Wizard"/"Wizard of Wor."

I've had a dream where i had to swordfight a demon who stole peoples souls through their dreams to row his giant slave ship across dimensions into the real world where he could destroy the world.

I had a dream where he came back and i had to do it AGAIN.

Take your pick.

Talk about repeating dreams...I had a dream when I was about 8 where the world in the future was all metal and kinda 50s looking, and the place was powered by huge fluorescent bulbs, not the sun. Anyway, it all boiled down to my friends and I being chased by a huge robot clown.

And I probably had this dream 10 times in the span of a few months. And every time I had the dream, a little bit was different, usually a little more goofy. Eventually, I wasn't afraid of the robot clown, and we would try to fight the robot or trick it in different ways. And if things got scary, I'd simply say "I don't want to dream this anymore," and I'd wake up. I wish I could still do that.
