It can be the flagship exclusive PS3 FPS series, but it wont achieve Halo sales sadly

I think it has the potential to be, but it certainly isn't yet. It's kinda like the Playstation's Fable. The first game was good, but not AAA, and we have lots of hope for the second itteration. Of course, Fable isn't a FPS, but you got 2 out of 3.

Halo 1 was the best game in the series. Resistance already missed that marker.

sony had make a mistake to make Resistance 2 release at the same time as Gears 2.
So Resistance 2 has a high chance flop in this winter.

Oops, scratch that. I somehow posted that in completely the wrong place. I doubt R2 will flop in sales or quality.

Well, I think Resistance 2 single player has a hell of a road to hoe if it wants to be better than Combat Evolved. Other than that, yeah, it'll surely get better from part 1 to part 2. It'll never be as popular as Halo, though, imo. Halo was like the Perfect Storm.

Hmm wasn't Kill Zone named "The Halo Killer"? So I think Kill Zone is vs Halo. Resistance always come the same year as Gears, so it is more R2 vs GoW2. I know one is FPS and the second is TPS, but this is how I see it.

I think the Resistance series has always been a foil for Gears of War. The original games released within a week of each other, they were both really successful, both the originals sold well, but not Halo numbers (Gears got 5 Million, R:FOM got 3), and now they're both getting sequels that are releasing just 3 days apart.
Oh, and setting wise Resistance is a lot closer to GoW than to Halo. They're both set in dark, gritty worlds without space travel, and the enemies are vaguely humanoid with a hive mind and backup in the form of big baddies.

Hell, Chimera and Locust both sound similar.

I don't see your logic.  Since each is on a seperate platform the only chance for each to affect the other is with people who own both platforms (and who only plump for one) - unless you think PS3 owners aren't going to buy RFOM2 because GoW2 is out for 360, which seems pretty unlikely thought to me...

However if you've gone to effort of buying both a 360 and a PS3 I doubt you're going to buy one and not the other so I don't even see that affecting much either.

Whatever RFOM2 sells won't be overly affected by GoW2.  And given RFOM sold over 3M and there is now a larger install base I doubt its going to sell less than at least 3.5 to 4M LTD and may sell more if it reviews very well.
