Forums - Nintendo - Is "spastic" really that offensive in the UK?

It's a silly thing to recall a game due to a word be taken out of context. It's for the best though, since they are people who can get offended with the term. Now the stupid thing would be actually to sue Nintendo over this for a quick buck. Damn sue-happy people, are living for  things like that.

"You won't find Adobe here in Nairobi"

Remember kids, shooting aliens, zombies, and people is OK, as long as you don't call them spastic retards.

What the hell is the world coming to?

I was thinking the very same thing Masenko. This is pretty lame..wait might offend someone. Let me recall my post. That was supposed to be "This is ridiculous."

It's not ridiculous if you live in the UK. 'Spaz' and 'Spastic' where common playground taunts when I was a kid in the 80s. The word became such a common insult that the Spastic Society had to change it's name (to what I can't remember).

It's extremely offensive to disabled people and is not acceptable language in the UK.
