He just said things as he saw them, nothing he has said is false. Carmack said the exact same things as he did. "PS3 is a pain in the ass for developers and Sony fucked up, I'm enjoying playing the Wii." Both people have revolutionized the gaming scene, more so than any game from Sony or Insomniac and Nintendo only matches them in that area because of games like SMB and Zelda.

Eh, you speak of Nintendo like they're barely up to par, though I think Nintendo is on a whole league of its own. Even without Mario and Zelda see: Touch! Generations series, Wii series. It may not be to your taste, but it sure is revolutionizing the gaming scene. In comparison, Carmack only has Wolfenstein 3D (+ Doom/Quake), and Newell has Half-Life / Steam.

OT:

Fav all-time:
Blizzard (Warcraft / Diablo / Starcraft universes)
Nintendo (Mario / Zelda / + many others)
Squaresoft (FF's, SNES RPG's, etc)

Current dev teams:
Blizzard
Team Ico (Ico, SotC)
Nintendo EAD 3 (Zelda team)

If we go by the ratio of failure/success Valve and Blizzard are currently sitting at 0 while Nintendo is above that, not more than 1 that's for sure, but above that 0. It takes a lot of hard work to constantly make top-nothc innovative games and Nintendo has failed before. Don't get me wrong, I have a Wii as well and my love owards it is second only to my PC, but again I'm just calling it as I see it.

Reminded me of this:

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

Wow, only 3? That's hard :(.

Nintendo
Square Enix
Retro Studios

This could change if the Conduit is as great as the trailers look. Also, I would have put Rare on the list, but I think MS pretty much screwed them.

Oh, of course Valve or Blizzard has so few (at the moment, 0) failures - they're much smaller, so they make very few games. Nintendo needs to pump out tons to support their systems, so there are bound to be some bad eggs in the batch. I was only arguing that Nintendo has easily revolutionized the gaming industry scene much as (or more than) Carmack(id) / Newell(Valve).
