Oh I agree, a similar price cut for the PS3 will help it more in Europe than the 360s did, but there is no blanket "mass market price" that applies to all products, the sales still come down to how much the customers are willing to pay for the item.
The Wii at launch could have been priced $350-400 and still been mass-market priced, It's about now it has reached relative price parity in Japan and Europe... and will likely stay that way for another year at least. (In America it could still be priced $300 and sell the same)
The PS3s mass market price at the moment I would guess is maybe $50 - 100 less than it is currently priced (had the 60G and 20G models remained that price would be higher, but then Sony couldn't have reduced the cost as much, so it's a balancing game)
