I got Skyrim on Friday morning but then the SWTOR weekend beta started so I've been playing that. It's pretty good I guess since it's let me solo just fine so far, but I don't think I want to get sucked in to it.

Well I'm having major problems with Uncharted 3.

Well I exchanged my copy. Got to start menu with the new copy, did one multiplayer game and then the same spinning ring crap and nothing no matter what I do.

And after a few tries I don't even get to the start menu anymore.

What's happening is my PS3 Blu Ray player is getting old and having troubles with Uncharted 3 which is a dual layer ( and the disc probably has a few quality issue as I was able to play KZ3 which was a dual layer too).

Thankfully I still had my old fat PS3 that I had had fixed after it broke down and the game is working fine on that one so now I just have to hope I can plat the game before it breaks down ( because I don't expect the repair I had done at the time to last forever)...

Hopefully there won't be too many more dual layers released this gen...

PS : my old PS3 is making the noise of a plane trying to take off.. Damn fan...

i have had 2 blu ray breakdowns but is my 60gb,its quite annoying,but does your slim just not play U3 or is it everything because i hope my new slim is going to last for a bit,lol and the old ones are loud aren't they,haha,mine only broke a few weeks ago so i remember

other games work.

Even KZ3 which is a dual layer used to work too but I haven't tried it since my U3 issues..

I've been reading that a lot of people are having this problem with Uncharted 3...

Like I said my feeling is that it's a combination of PS3 with tiring Blu Ray lenses and poor dual layer quality for Uncharted 3.

It's not a single item as the Uncharted 3 disc that won't work at all on my PS3 slim works fine in my old fat, but at the same time my slim can play other games fine...

The reason it happens with Uncharted is that very games are actually released on dual layer ( only 3 coming to mind are MGS4, GoW 3 and KZ3) and it seems to me that the quality of uncharted dual layer disc is poor ) which is not an issue with a good Blu Ray player but can be one with an old tiring Blu Ray player as reading dual layers disc requires a more focused laser..

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

Man that sucks Ail... Hopefully your fat PS3 holds up. The PS3 I sold to my friend for repair costs broke down after about a month, maybe 20 hours a week of usage, to give you a rough idea.

Uncharted 3! Ugh! I really want to play it now but I am still bummed about for not been able to buy that damn Collector's edition. When I was about to pre-order they said they won't accept anymore pre-orders it's already close and there is no slots left. Poor me. I really want that ring and the belt buckle.

I must be one of the lucky ones. My day 1 launch PS3 is still going strong. Must have clocked over 10,000 hours on it by now. When I first got it I used to run Folding Home 24/7. I had nothing else to play besides Resistance 1 and a month later I bought Fight Night Round 3.

Edit: (Knock on wood) Watch it'll now die tomorrow...
