this game will be epic and id just like to say that this is has been a great post, but do you KnoW how many maps there will be online and how many missions there will be or will i have to find out when i get the game?   CANT WAIT

Well thank you, I hope you are referring the epic post as the OP, I've worked quite hard on it :).  But, the game will have 70 map variants.  Meaning the game will have a set number of maps (say 13) and each of those maps will have variants depending on how large or small your party is.

oraaaa damb RESISTANCE 2.. hope it sells at least 1/2 of Gears sales not hating ima PS3 owner just. "KEEPInG IT REAL"

I think outselling gears is out of the question so I'm wishing that people would just compare the games themselves.

what a super lineup for ps3 this fall, r2 is simply looking brilliant 3 games in 1, day one purchase for me. it looks better than gear2

This game is shaping up very nice. The graphics look pretty good and the gameplay looks superb. 8 player co-op and 60MP, unbelievable. This is now a first day buy. Valkyria is going to have to wait.

why? I think that's quite flattering. It may not have the sales of either (at least not of Gears) but it seems to be a game that looks just as good and plays at least as well (if the first ones are any guide).

The only thing Gears really has going for it is the polish. Resistance looks on some occasions a little bit cartoonish and I think it could be easier for Gears to create this atmosphere of despair. But otherwise I would take Resistance over curbstomping Gears anytime.

I think R2's success is independent of the success of both Killzone and GeoW2.  I don't think there is a chance that R2 will outsell GeoW2 and judging by the Halo 3/GTA 4 type of hype around GeoW2, I think the reviewers will hand out the perfect scores.  Post launch R2 will be judged by it's metacritic and sales compared to GeoW2.

 

? eh yes but they are still in the same genre (more or less) and they are all big budget games with amazing visuals so its quite natural to compare them with each other. I don't think many people think R2 will outsell G2 but I wouldn't have a problem with anyone comparing them to each other.
