Forums - Gaming - Max Payne Movie gets PG-13 Rating.

I am fully expecting it to suck too. Seems like too much an action movie, if you ask me.

What made the Max Payne games special was the mood, and judging from trailers they completely failed to set that dark, desperate, run down mood that is ever present in them.

What are R and PG-13 ratings?

R - Restricted, you have to be seventeen or older (or accompanied by an adult) to get a sale

PG-13 - You have to be thirteen or older (or accompanied by an adult) to get a sale

Think about it like the Mature and Teen ratings with video games.... without the controversy of video games....

For shame!!!

How can it remain true to the gritty ulrta-violent source material if it's only got a PG-13 rating?

There goes another game to movie project straight down the toilet.

I liked Silent Hill, actually got me to play the game for first time.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Silent Hill and the original Resident Evil were the only movie to game translations that I thought were any good.

I still have some hopes for Max Payne even though it is rated PG-13 and I'm still going to see it in theaters.
