Max Payne Movie gets PG-13 Rating.
I think this will hurt the movie. What so you guys think? I was expecting an R rating.
I was expecting it to suck...this confirms it. the previews make it look like a low budget sin city.
Why expect an R rating for any film these days? They pretty much screwed the pooch on Die hard 4 and AVP before it. I give up, videogames provide my blood lust.
Or, see something foreign, japanese, korean, european horror = they do not suck at all

Much like how some developers want their game to get a T instead of a M rating, the director wanted to get Pg-13 so that it'll be available to more people to watch. I saw on Kotaku that the director was pretty pissed when it first got the R rating.
Does that mean it's a good movie? Probably not....

They wanted to give the movie a R rating. The director fought with them over it and cited The Dark Knight as a reason for why the movie should be able to get a PG-13 rating. Apparently he got his way.

We'll see. The Max Payne games were bloody violent and full of language. If they don't stay true to the character it will be bashed. I hate Hollywood they can't ever seem to get a video game movie right. The best one IMO was Silent Hill it was as close to the video game as possible.
Yeah silent hill was great. That titty twister scene with the pyramid head was awesome...
I thought it was the other way around. It was originally R and they wanted it to be PG-13. Hell I would if I was the director, you can get more ticket sales that way. I think it would flop hard if it was R. Now it has a decent chance.
