Forums - General - Slacker Uprising by Michael Moore - Now available for free download

I'm only in the process of downloading it, So I can't really comment on it. I don't see how anyone can complain about the premise of encouraging people to vote. It will be his methods people will criticize.

From Wikipedia:

Slacker Uprising is a movie of Michael Moore’s tour of colleges in battleground states during the 2004 election, with a goal to encourage 18-29 year olds to vote, and the response it received.

It will be one of the first major motion pictures to be released as a free and legal download online. The free download will only be available to those residing in the United States and Canada. It will also be released on DVD, available for purchase on the Slacker Uprising website for $9.95. It had a one-night-only run at the Michigan Theater, where Michael Moore spoke briefly. It was generally well received.

Slacker Uprising also features performances by Eddie Vedder (of Pearl Jam), Roseanne Barr, Tom Morello (of Rage Against The Machine) and more. [1]

I am also in the process of downloading it. Thanks. What happened to that other movie he made about this tour, Captain Mike Across America? Is this movie kinda just replacing that one?

Unfortunately, the lawyers tell us we are only allowed to offer the film to people residing in the United States or Canada. The computers think you are someplace else right now, and that's why you are seeing this page. If you really are in the U.S. or Canada and our computers are confused, you may try accessing the website from a different network, at a friends house, etc. We're very sorry for the inconvenience, and really want as many people to see the film as possible.

I may get this through the cunning use of a proxy. Or from TPB.

i really dont understand why anyone would want to watch his work considering the amount of lying he does in his "documentaries".

The same reason people watch documentries on programs that try and teach gay people to be straight I imagine.

To point and laugh.

Yeah I was laughing my ass off at the bunny part too, in a classroom of people not laughing.

People want to watch his work because he's made the 3 highest grossing documentaries of all time. That alone has made him the Spielberg/Beatles of documentaries, and people want to keep an eye on him. He (along with the internet) has started a new golden age of documentary film making, and whether you like him or not, a lot of great new documentaries are coming out that were inspired by his success and his ability to get his messages to the biggest crowds ever. The world needs muckraking.

I disli- I mean HATE Micheal Moore. He's an over confident, pompus, lying ass!

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

Obligatory dick measuring Gaming Laptop Specs: Sager NP8270-GTX: 17.3" FULL HD (1920X1080) LED Matte LC, nVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M, Intel Core i7-4700MQ, 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3, 750GB SATA II 3GB/s 7,200 RPM Hard Drive

Now now, what he says in his documentaries may be extremely one sided, or with a spin here or there, but he is not outright lying. Just because he is leaving out facts and not presenting the other side doesn't mean anything. Just means they are not really documentaries, just one-sided editorials with facts in them.
