@Kurakasa what is it with you and your hate towards Nintendo and there games? Wow my love for you increased tenfold with this thread. But I guess it’s your opinion witch = nothing when you do things the way you do. |
I don't hate nintendo. I just don't like almost any of their games. But I do love wii-series, they are absolutely brilliant. For someone else, not me.
@11ht11
Well at least ms is not failing me on what is most important, delivering good games. ;)

* Voice acting is retarded - Voice acting? What voice acting? * Controls and camera are annoying at best - Controls are pretty much perfect, camera only moderately annoying and remarkably good considering the gameplay * Graphics are just bad - No, graphics are fantastic - I believe it was IGN who said it looked as good as any HD game up to that point * Game is SHORT - The game allows you to complete it with only selecting half of the challenges to go through, the value of playing after clocking is tremendous. It isn't particularly short in any case. * Story? There isn't any - And your point is? This is a oldschool platformer, it doesn't need a story as it's based on gameplay.

I know it was a joke thread but, hey, I can't resist replying to retarded comments even if they are joking.

Its a damn good game, but I agree it is slightly overrated. The story made me want to shoot myself, especially because you couldn't skip it. Words cannot express how much I hated the cutesy little star characters either.
I didn't like how you had to spin rather than punch, although this was useful for jumping.
The levels were a little too directed and not freeform enough I thought.
Overall I still give it a 9.3-9.5 out of 10, but it is by no means a 10/10.
We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke
It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...." Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson
..... it's mario.... it doesn't matter..... it will sell buckets....

I'm pretty sure the discs of both games have to be spun around at high speeds to make them entertaining.

Well, I think I remember mario shouting some annoying stuff while playing. Isn't that voice acting, too?
I did not like the controls, your opinion is irrelevant to me.
Did they say that? Link or it did not happen. But if you do find a link, reviewers are biased.
It is a short game, doesn't even have online multiplayer to compensate. I don't want to collect all the stars. Of course game needs a story. That is just a bad excuse.
GTA IV is overrated.
SMG is underrated.
* Voice acting is retarded
True of any video game.
* Controls and camera are annoying at best
Most people were happy with the developer-designed preset camera positions. One complaint from Mario 64 was having to constantly shift the camera, now the game does it for you.
* Graphics are just bad
Mario is a colorful game that's consistantly a joy to look at, especially in the age of monochromatic and brown color schemes.
* Game is SHORT
Unless you go for the 120 star special ending.
* Story? There isn't any
Ludology > Narratology
SMG is the peak of platforming.

'Cause I watched them fall away
Mildewed and smouldering
Fundamental differing
Pure intention juxtaposed
Will set two lovers' souls in motion
Disintegrating as it goes
Testing our communication
The light that fueled our fire then
Has a burned a hole between us, so
We cannot seem to reach an end
Crippling our communication
I know the pieces fit
'Cause I watched them tumble down
No fault, none to blame
It doesn't mean I don't desire to
Point the finger, blame the other
Watch the temple topple over
To bring the pieces back together
Rediscover communication
The poetry
That comes from the squaring off between
And the circling is worth it
Finding beauty in the dissonance
There was a time that the pieces fit
But I watched them fall away
Mildewed and smouldering
Strangled by our coveting
I've done the math enough to know
The dangers of our second guessing
Doomed to crumble unless we grow
And strengthen our communication
Cold silence has
A tendency to
Atrophy any

Between supposed lovers
Between supposed brothers
