Forums - Gaming - Is Final Fantasy important anymore?

FF12 is the only FF game that I have only beaten once and that was just barely. never been so dissapointed in my life in a game.

Hopefully nr 13 will fix that but the longer it takes for it to come out the more worried I get... FF12 took what 5 years to make? and it turned out real bad.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

saying final fantasy is no longer important is like saying sex is no longer enjoyable...it just doesnt make sense?! because both sex and final fantasy are important and enjoyable....now if you can somehow combine the two....

FF will most-likely always be around. Just like the Tales series, just the like the Halo series, just like Mario, Megaman, etc...etc...

The day FF dies is the day it will be called "No seriously, The FINAL Fantasy".

  • 2010 MUST Haves: WKC, Heavy Rain, GoWIII, Fable III, Mass Effect 2, Bayonetta, Darksiders, FFXIII, Alan Wake, No More Heroes 2, Fragile Dreams: FRotM, Trinity: SoZ, BFBC2.
  • Older Need To Buys: Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario Kart Wii, Deadspace, Demon's Souls, Uncharted 2.

There is definitely more to list that I want, but that's my main focus there.

You dont know what you are talking about. Your statement on FFVII sold on shock value is iladvised and down right rediculous.

OT
Final Fantasy is still very much important. Just not as important as it once was. Their quality in games has declined over the years. Not saying the FF franchise has been bad but the othergames they make have been meh. FFXII was not as good as X and they have failed to reach FFVII level since then. Not to mention the decision to go multiplat makes them even less significant this gen. Exclusives get a lot of screen time in a video gamer's heart. MPs are a dime a dozen so it will no longer have that kind of effect on many.

Who knows, maybe FFXIII will change this. The first of the gen usually does do the best. It is the freshest idea while the laters follow. Versus don't look to shaby tho(better to me).

It's called Sarcasm...

Pixel Art can be fun.

I think FF is the most important game to me, that exists. I also loved FFVII, VIII, X, and XII.

What other people think, I could care less about, lol. I know what's good and what's not. Most of the criticisms come from people who have barely even played the games they like to trash. I don't wanna call them ignorant, but that would be my expert conclusion.

If XIII is half as good as XII, I'll consider myself lucky.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

 Terra sex toy?

Also anyone who says Final Fantasy is the best selling RPG series of all time has forgotten one series.

"The last few Final Fantasys have sucked comparativly"

^^ trolling. An unfounded opinion based on nothing. I already gave you reputable review numbers from reputable websites that blast holes in that kind of statement.

I agree. Those kinds of statements insult me. As a person whose loved every Final Fantasy game yet released(except XI) I take exception to people stating their opinions, which are probably based off speculation rather than actual gameplay, as fact. Especially when the majority of game reviewers worldwide viamently agree with me, and look down spitefully on them.
