When I downloaded the game I noticed that it said it only supported the Wii-mote and the Classic Controller.

I went back to the game and you are right it does only say Wii Remote and classic controller compatible, but I could have sworn I saw the gamecube controller icon there when I first downloaded it...oh well...sorry for wasting everyone's time

Oddly enough though, I looked at Mega Man 9 in the Nintendo Channel and in the info about the game it has the picture of the Gamecube controller.  Maybe Nintendo changed it in the Shop Channel from earlier today or something and forgot to fix it in the Nintendo channel.

WTF -- having GC support is a huge blessing because you can use a GC convertor and play with like any controller. Hate to say it, but if they left this out I'm buying the dumb Sony version so I can play w/ my Saturn pad.
