In Famitsu latest most wanted games in Japan Gta4 is above Star ocean 4. Does this mean that Japan like Gta4 or is it just too early say, whats ur thoughts.

Keep in mind im not talking thrash or anything of any game just trying to have an conversation so go.

Once more, that list doesn't represent the whole gaming community in Japan.

Maybe not but Famitsu is a big magazine in Japan, not saying its right but maybe a little.

Although the list doesn't represent the whole Japanese population, it is likely that GTA4 (PS3) will outsell or at least do as well as, SO4 (360).

Star Ocean 3 sold 0.55m and GTA: Vice City 0.47m and when you take account that Star Ocean 4 will be released only for X360 and GTA IV comes to PS3 it is not too surprising.

GTA is not an unpopular series in Japan so this isn't a huge surprise.

What Killerman said... GTA4 will very likely sell more if SO4 is on X360 only.

But also what Xen said, in that the "most wanted" bit of Famitsu only seems to represent the "hardest" of core fans... X360 games get into the top 10 often, but never do so in sales.

 Come on Tbone.  You have been here long enough to know better then this.  Questions like this are starting to sound like they border on desperation.

Because the Famitsu (Hardcore) crowd wants GTA4 more then SO4 does that mean that Japan wants GT4 more then SO4?  You have been around long enough to know that the Famitsu most wanted list means nothing when it comes to how well a game will sell.  The are many examples of this and it has been shown over and over again that the Famitsu most wanted list is a worthless indicator for the rest of Japan.

The fact that you know this and yet still posted the question shows some possible desperation to me.

Star Ocean is not a very big series, its entire franchise has only seen sales of 2.8mil WW, this was stated at E3 i think. The GTA franchise has seen about equal sales in Japan as the SO series based off this sites data. So to imagine sales of GTA4 higher then Star Ocean could be possible.

How is it desperation, if Famitsu post than they must know something and like i said before i didnt want this thread to be trash talking thread about each console or game i just posted it so where was i wrong.
