Forums - Sales - The EU 360 price cut predictions for sales.

I'm not sure the exact date that the pricecut started. But I walked into one of the local GAME shops im my city and wondered why there were loads of people buying 360's? I saw 5 bought in 20 mins. Arcade £129.99, 60gb model £169.99 and Elite £229.99. The ones I saw bought were 60gb models. I doubt very very much it will beat the PS3 in others on any week, but do you think it will help to jump it up to around 65,000 average? Or do you believe it will fair better? Your thoughts guys. It seems M$ have done well with the pricecuts WW. I think the 3 areas put together will probably find M$ an extra 40 - 50,000 average a week WW than what they have been doing. Think we will see 150,000 - 170,000 average sales WW for 360 up to christmas. Your thoughts?

I'm just waiting for the next Australian cut.

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

The 360 is DEAD, MS should just let it die and leave the console business!

;-p Seriously, I'm also curious to see how the price cut will affect sales in the EU. The price cut in NA seems to be having a nice positive effect and the JP had a good first and possibly second week. The EU #'s should be interesting to watch for awhile. :)

starcraft: "I and every PS3 fanboy alive are waiting for Versus more than FFXIII.
Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

Skeeuk: "playstation 3 is the ultimate in gaming acceleration"

hum, I dont know about France (is it not the 19/09/08 ?)

To my eyes the big change is about the Elite that will only cost 300 euros (100 euros less than a PS3).

I m not sure what will happen.

Remember,
there is a special sku in Europe : PS3 80gb + 2 paddle + GT5pro : 445 euros
or PS3 80gb+ movie = 400 euros

Time to Work !

I'm in the US, so I'm really not familiar with EU purchasing patterns and trends, but I would assume they're similar to the US concerning the cost/holiday/gift factors. Then, again, I was surprised last year to find that Europeans were so willing to spend as much as they did on the PS3, so I'm really in the dark on this one.

Can someone give me a short, relatively "objective" summary of why the PS3 does so well in EU/Others?

360 will definitely beat the PS3 after the price in EU.
probably selling around 70 000 average in EU.

Well, since you posted a anecdotal "I walked into a shop"... I'll gladly retort with experiences from Belgium:

I walked into the 5 biggest shops / game shops over here, and Xbox / PS3 and WII were all there in plenty of numbers. Didn't seem like any of the game systems sold at all. Stacked mile high...

Wii at 235
PS3 at 399
Xbox at its new price point + additional 40 euro's off the price after visiting a certain website.

It would seem no game systems sold at all over here...

Well, I can only speak for Belgium:

Most people here only talk about PS3 and only think about purchasing a PS3 in the upcoming months / years.

Playstation name + Xbox RroD (which DOES have its impact) + "we pay for quality" (a elusive concept, but combine it with the RROD and you have a bigger clue) are probably not to be underestimated as factors

At least we don't miss penalties!  (because we don't make it to the tournament at all >_>)

I would guess 75,000

PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.

Currently playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, Halo ODST and Dragon Age Origins is next game
