LBP will appeal to a much larger demographic. The smaller PS3 user base will keep it from beating Fable2 this year, but it should have long legs. Everything I have heard from reviewers about the game and creation system has been amazingly positive.

I am guessing that LBP will be bundled with the PS3 holiday 09. That alone should push sales above Fable2.

 

 

That might be true but have they said they will bunddled or you just assuming it?

I'll be getting Fable 2, but not LBP, for many reasons.



I don't need your console war.

I have an idea: post your thoughts in that specific thread. This is a comparison of two COMPLETELY UNRELATED games that will likely appeal to different markets. Plus, I agree with what FishyJoe says.

 I doubt that. 10 million will be far away.

I just can't imagine that LBP will be the best selling game on a HD console. Just to name a few games, LBP would outsell:

  • Halo 3, Xbox360 (8.23 million)
  • Call of Duty 4, Xbox360 (6.43 million)
  • GTA IV, Xbox360 (5.94 million)
  • Gears of War, Xbox360 (5.2 million)
  • GTA IV, PS3 (4.45 million)

Hell it would even outsell

  • Super Mario Galaxy (6.95 million)
  • Mario Kart Wii (7.91 million so far)
  • Wii Fit (7.62 million so far)
  • Super Smash Brothers Brawl (6.92 million so far)

I really don't think LBP will be that successful. Maybe if it gets permanently bundled like WiiSports / WiiPlay. But regular sales will be like 4.5 million. It will be slightly ahead of Fable2, but not that great at all.
