If there was no Nintendo(which is highly unlikely),what system/company would u switch allegiance 2?

If there was no Nintendo, there would be NO company to pledge allegiance to.

There is no videogame industry without Nintendo. Literally.

The day they exit the business is the day consoles cease to exist. Gaming would end up on computers and mobile devices. But it would be a much less lucrative and sadder place.

I don't have any allegiance per say but before I thought about getting a Wii I leaned towards the PS3. I guess I would buy a PS3 but wait until it was below $300.

Whatever gave me the best bang for my buck. Of course if the question means no Nintendo ever as in not even the NES, I don't know if I would've gotten in to games. The gaming market would've been very different. I think somebody would've jumped in eventually after the '83 Atari crash but who knows when and how successful they would've been. And without any major competition for a while, there would've been no incentive to raise the bar and make better games along with increased graphic capabilities.

If the gaming market did start back up without Nintendo, it would've been at least 10 years behind where they are now. Also, many of the unique ideas we've grown accustomed to are ideas from Nintendo. The gaming industry would've progressed slowly and may not have caught my attention as kid or teenager becuase of it. I only game now as a 30 year old because I grew up with it and it's in my blood.

I'll come up with something better eventually...

That is a hard question! Nowadays I am much more open to buying non-nintendo consoles and own a PS3 and 360 currently along with my Wii offcourse! My pick would really depend on a lot of Japanese software company support so Sony is the natural option but I play my 360 more at present!

Probably Sony I guess but currently if I had to choose it would be MS because the 360 has most of the same games I want from PS3 and it's cheaper! Still MGS4 is my favourite next gen game!

360 - LuminalACE

PS3 - AUS-ACE

If Nint had never existed, I would probably have a company....
If Nint had disapeared say N64 gen... I have no Idea who, but probably shuffling arround.

Nint is the only console I am sure to get every gen (sooner or later... I got PSP before DS), and the reason is that it's the only ones that have Zelda :p (Yeah I would buy them only for these games... and it's the only series like that).

Agreed!  The only console I will definetely buy next gen is the Wii's successor just to play Zelda, Mario and Metroid...my three most loved franchises...Although I will follow MGS to whichever console it lands on too...scratch that I will surely end up buying the other two consoles anyway...it's the only guaranteed way to not miss out on something I love nowadays!

For the first time in my life I wasn't going to own a current gen system. Consoles were trying to be PCs, and my PC was better than any console, so why downgrade?

Then E3 2006 happened, Wii was unveiled. Like all those people waiting in line that snaked across the entire show, I HAD to try it.

I camped out overnight on opening day, with people driving by asking "are you in line for the PS3?!" and was one of 5 people (out of 100) to get a Wii on day 1.

If Nintendo had made a Gamecube 2 and did nothing but upgrade graphics and add a hard drive, this would be the first generation I didn't own a console.

Funny thing is, Nintendo assumed there were a lot of people like me, people who were tired of console gaming and would drop out this generation. The Wii was designed partly to get people like me back into consoles.
