Forums - Gaming - Post here if you NEVER preorder anymore

yea I stopped preordering games about 4 years ago when Halo 2 came out and I saw Tons of them at bestbuy... I've never had to preorder a game since and enjoy being able to pick up the game wherever... Plus sometimes you don't know about what specials certain stores have if you buy the game there until the sunday paper ad that week.. IE. when I got my halo 2 from target I got a free strategy guide, the one that sold for like $20...

yeah ive never pre-ordered anything. i always wait to read reviews and wait to see if any deals come out during the first weekend of it. although i usally dont buy a game till a week or two after its out sometimes ill get it first week if it comes with a deal like you mentioned above

I never pre-ordered in the first place.

Three things have been pre-ordered by me.

1. My Gamecube. (ordered in WHS a couple of weeks before UK release, then picked up the day after release with the awesome Wave Race: blue storm)

2. The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. (pre ordered a few weeks early on Amazon)

3. My Wii. (Not strictly a pre-order given it was late January, but I reserved one in my local GameStation because of the lack of supply, and they phoned 1 week later for me to pick it up )

I never preorder anything.

Never will.

I preordered a few games like Wind Waker (got the Ocarina of Time: Master Quest GC disc for that), and a few others I can't remember...I don't anymore though...it's pointless to be tied down to one store.

I pre-purchase Steam games though, since obviously it's only coming from Steam, if I'm sure I'm getting the game, and there's often betas for Valve games.

edit: I did it for SSBB too, since I needed a guarantee before standing forever in line at midnight and also to play the tournament beforehand.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

I pre-order games that come with some bonus (free hat, t-shirt, soundtrack, gift card, codes, etc.), otherwise it's to any store.

I've only preordered the Wii, Mario Kart Wii and Wii Fit. All good calls, as they all were sold out for weeks after release.

In the UK it's: pre-order your game at a 'game' or 'gamestation' that charge £10 more than Amazon and get a free load of shit worth 50p.

@ llewdebkram, you can order from game.co.uk, and in my experience they are quite quick, and mostly as cheap as amazon

Anyway, I always pre-order my games, it means I get them at home waiting for me on a friday, so that I can play them as soon as I get back from school, it is a great way to end the week

ive never preordered at all. i rather just get it from da store.
