I don't think there's much hope for someone who couldn't find anything worthwhile in Galaxy, Twilight Princess or Brawl.

Hey stop that!! I liked Mario Galaxy alot, but Twilight Princess was also good.  But, Brawl was no where near as good or fun as Melee.  Its too easy to cheat in it.  I hate how everyone defends brawl and kart wii when they are both worse than the gamecube versions.  Gamecube versions for the win1!!!!!

It's that 10% of platform exclusives that make the difference.

Obviously the guy likes MGS, so assuming he's looking at what's available today, why buy a console that doesn't have what he wants? He already mentioned Uncharted and R&C (three games, good as they may be, are NOT reason to jump ship if you already have a decent collection on another platform).

You can always sell a Wii today for what you paid for it, and pick one up in a year or so when they're cheaper, but most of the big franchises for the platform are already out, making it pretty easy after two years to decide whether the Wii is for you or not.

Keep your games unless you really don't like any of them, which I find pretty hard to believe for a self-professed long time Nintendo fan.

You can hold your breath for improved 3rd party support, but facts remain, the best third party support is not on the Wii today. And based upon the laundry list of games in development currently, it won't be on the Wii tomorrow. Big budget 3rd party titles (if that's what you want) for the Wii aren't made simply because they wouldn't sell any better than a game better suited to the platform, made at a fraction of the cost.

If the motion controls of the Wii haven't magically re-invented gaming for you, then there is no other appeal beyond tried and true Nintendo franchises that you either love, or are indifferent to.

You can hold your breath for Wii 1.5 with Motion Plus, but until we see dedicated games that were designed from the ground up that REQUIRE M+, that prove the worth of the feature (which will not be done in a year or less) it's just not a system seller.

IMO, don't bother buying a PS3 until you have a decent HDTV.

Sure, you can still play the games on it, but they were not designed to be output at 480 lines of resolution. Text, resolution viewing distances, fine detail, etc. all downscaled/lost.

You'd be far better off playing your games on a PC monitor with HDMI inputs than an old 480i CRT TV.

Uncharted and Ratchet and MGS are all really awesome.  Plus I'm probably going to buy Final Fantasy XIII and Little Big Planet.  I don't like First Person Shooters, but Infamous looks really cool too.  I will aso buy Resident Evil 5 and Street Fighter IV as well.  Jeeze.  I'm hopeing I can connect to the PS3 to the spare 22 inch monitor we own. and play it in High Definition.

While it seems to be a troll thread, Id say that you dont like the games on Wii, and you are turning into a graphics whore, so you might as well get a PC, 360 or PS3 and maybe you will enjoy those. You could just wait for christmas where your extremely generous parents will be able to buy you (in the least) a core 360 or maybe a sale PS3.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Using a PS3 with a PC monitor will only work properly if it's a newer model with HDMI input.

Unless it's HDCP compatible, you won't be able to watch Blu-Ray movies at full resolution (which is what you're paying for when you buy them) if that's something you're interested in.

If you're using an older non-HDCP display, it might not even output in HD resolutions.

You can convert the connection to DVI with an adapter, but DVI does not transfer audio signals. Unless you output sound direct from the PS3 using the digital optical out port, which would require an external stereo system, you won't have sound.

Its a Westinghouse we bought not too long ago, it is newer I think, I'll resarch it though. I t would be really cool if it did play Ps3 games in highdefintion.

It depends on the model. Some Westinghouse displays (the larger ones) have a ridiculous number of inputs (co-ax, composite, S-video, component, VGA, DVI, HDMI) whereas some of the smaller ones only have VGA and DVI like most computer monitors.

All you have to do is look at the back of the display. Either it has an HDMI port, or it doesn't.

If it has one, it still needs integrated speakers, and/or a form of audio output, even if it's just a 1/8" headphone output jack.

It doesnt have HDMI but it has component will that work?

Of course you should. Like someone said earlier, if you don't like nintendo franchises ps3 or 360 is much better console for you.

Watching things in HD at 22" really isn't that cool.

I don't dislike Nintendo franchises, but the latest games have been horrible.
