Forums - Sales - Was rockband 2 a flop?

I haven't heard anything big about it and its been out for several days now

all i no is the new drums suck. like if u hit one in teh wrong spot it will activate a different button instead?

any1 know if it flopped or not?

The only real issue with the drums is that they have some cross talk issues, if you buy the silencers for them (made by Harmonix or you can sock mod them) it eliminates the issue and supposedly makes them far better, both in Rebound and Cross Talk.

As for sales, I only have about 14 friends on XBL, and 7 of them are playing RB2 now. Since most my friends are actually just people I have met in random games and liked, I think maybe this game has a pretty good penitration. I wouldnt be surprised if it comes with in spitting distance of 750k units week one.

As for the drum trainer thing, it does what it should do. Teaches you the various beats and how to fill correctly. I dont see much else it could have done besides make what would have been its own game in its own and done a full scale trainer.

I own all three current consoles and a great gaming rig, now thats out of the way.

This space Reserved for the Nuggets of Wisdom dropped by Bladeforce:

"Why post something like this when all it will get is PS3 owners blinded to reality replying? BOTH THE PS3 AND BLUE-RAY WILL NOT LAST 3 YEARS! TECHNOLOGY CHANGED TOO FAST!"

"is it Wii FIt that has sold as many as PS3's sold? Thats a LOL Look at the total sales of software is it just me that sees Nintendo titles hitting 10m+ and you say they arent making a difference? Another LOL!"

"Hell, with all the negative hype Sony spin, people just aren't interested cost is too high and to get the true HD experience (1080p, 7.1 surround) you will need a $1000+ system. THAT IS GOING TO DO IT IN A RECESSION! PS4 will not happen"

The drum trainer could have very easily been improved. How about analyzing your ability and suggesting methods of improvment. Or a study guide to improve drumming. Maybe some videos of drum players giving drumming tips. I could think of dozens of ways they could have improved it. I own a metronome does more than the drum trainer.

The drum trainer as it exists is nothing more than a cheap add on. I seriously doubt any significant effort was put into its creation. IMO, it's not a significant feature since it's pretty much the exact same thing as practice mode.

i got the game last tuesday.... i'm still not convinced whether this game was worth the $59.99

Sounds like the drum trainer for RB2 is very similar to the tutorial for GH3...that about right?

No, there is a separate drum tutorial in RB2 which is similar to the GH3 tutorial, maybe shorter. But if you know how to play GH or RB with the guitar, there is really no need to do the tutorial.

The drum trainer is identical to the practice mode for each song. The only difference is that there is no song, just some notes.

Timed-exclusive didn't help.
