It was sold out at my local shops so I figure ti sold well. In terms of the time exclusive without the kit I think is better then nothing. Should stay way above the PS3 and should compete very well at least on the 360 against GT.

Time exclusive thing was retarded so you cant really say much till its released for everything else I think.

You have sales data before it gets released to the public? You moderators are so lucky.
| mrstickball said: In my estimation, it's probably sold around 400,000 on its first week, if not more. So no, it's not a flop :) It sold over 150,000 on Day-1, FYI. |
Do you think the 360 version is going to get a second "launch month" type sales when the full bundle comes out next month? I know there's a lot of people that couldn't buy this because it was only the game and you have to have the first Rock Band which puts a limit on the number of copies it could sell in it's current form. Even though it's the type of game that sells good for months and months, maybe it will have a better than usual second month.
I had a hard time finiding it 5 days after launch...so im not surprised at sales.

Yes. I don't know if they will be as high as this week (again, I argue 400k this week), since the bundle is such a big investment, but I think we could see Rock Band 2 re-launch to around 200,000-250,000 when it launches with everything else.
What will be REALLY NEAT is seeing how many people go out, when Rock Band 2 fully launches, and buys a NEW copy of Rock Band. Theoretically, since you will always be able to merge RB 1 songs, it could go on to sell millions of extra copies by new Rock Band 2/3/4 owners in the future.
Talk about an evergreen strategy. Nintendo should take a look at what Harmonix is doing - They are insuring that by servicing early adopters of Rock Band 1, that the sold equipment and discs can still be used, therefore the discs (for RB 1) will always need to be bought.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

I doubt that.
I would be pretty shocked if the game flopped. It has a good following and plenty of advertisment on MTV, in other words it will do just fine.
Whether folks who do buy it think it was worth the cost is a legit question from what I've heard but even that is woefully premature to make a conclusion on. Some folks are going to have problems, just because we have heard from a few of them thus far doesn't mean its indicative of everyone.
