Well hopefully someday these games will be released in the US uncensored when they're inevitably remade again.

It seems to me that this is just a Square Enix troll thread. You probably don't care in the slightest about this game, and I doubt you would buy it even if/when an "uncensored" version is released again.

For the third time, allow me to clear up misconceptions about this game.

The game is NOT censored. The dialects are cute, and they are only present in the first four chapters which are short. The only thing removed was team speak which lets the hero talk to his/her party members.

Please buy this game if you are intrigued by it. It really is the best role playing game on the DS so far.

Oh for the love of god why would I be trolling a game on a console I love? And yes I was actually considering getting this game before I saw this.

From what I understand the Team Speak is the majority of the character interaction in the game and very critical point in the game. I have no problem with the dialects what-so-ever or the renaming of stuff. The Team-Speak is just what bothers me.

I created this thread to draw out these matters and have them adressed as well as confirmed. As we can see, it's not the end of the world for this game, though it is a pretty dick move to cut out one of the key features of the game that contributed greatly to the characters in it.

Let's hope they release an E+10 or T version with the team talk included, though its very doubtful. Square-Enix isn't exactly big on their Western market.

This is an old school RPG, so character interation is not a big deal. I can see why people are dissapointed that it's gone, but if that is stopping you from buying this game, then that's where I draw the line.

I agree that it shouldn't have been taken out, but I'm more than willing to take the loss since I'm happy we are even getting this game. Square Enix has a history of leaving the Dragon Quest games in Japan, and if it means giving up party talk to get them over here, so be it.

Not to be rude, but I just can't wrap my head around the fact that some people would boycott this game all together, just on the principal itself. It is actually an amazing game, and you shouldn't miss it.

S-E took out the Party Talk for no good reason from what I know.  Hope they have a good excuse.

Game Informer does not mention anything about deletions or editing or censoring of the title in its review.

Then again, it does not provide much information and it is doubtful the reviewers there would have any clue about the original or the Japanese version.

Well at least this isn't as bad as that thread about voice acting in...Mega Man ZX Advent?

Tag - "No trolling on my watch!"

How is this thread even bad? i don't know what you people are freaking out over.

Square took a feature out of this game to make it more kiddy friendly and you're wrong Cactus, it is important, the Dragon Quest Games are known for their flavorful characters.

Just one question, how the hell is taking Party Talk out make the game more kid friendly?

Linky?

She's not going to provide a link.

As a matter of fact, this thread was just her knee-jerk reaction to what someone must have said on another board.

She even acknowledges about four posts down that she didn't know anything about it.

Perhaps a calmer version of this thread would have been better.

Watch out, I called Onimusha a she (and a fanboy) and got banned for it.

lol...yep.  I just got my first warning for this actually.

I think you're mistaken.  Up until Final Fantasy VII, the series was all about bad mother******s taking out the trash.  We have good ol' Nomura to thank for the change.  Also, Square and Enix were once different companies; this is important to remember.

Hates Nomura.

SE is a lame company, they focus more on rehashes and ports plus they hate the Wii. Just look at Soul Eater, got destroyed by reviews.

Um, why on earth are you looking forward to THAT?

It is an anime game, anime games are ment to be trash.

Anyway, Dragon Quest is a wonderful series, I can't get into it because the battle system is in first-person view(I know it sounds stupid but i HATE FPV in RPGs, I didn't like EarthBound for that same reason), I browsed the net to see this issue and the only thing i found out is that you can't talk to your party members(whatever that means), and the monsters have given new names.

nothing earth shattering, wtf.

^^^ This is what you get for blowing a rumor out of proportion

Chocobo brain damage!!! Here, drink this diet Coke..*runs*
