I'm sure that Japanese people want RPGs, but they also want quality, and not waiting a year for a game that's readily available on another platform.

I don't really understand the huge deal about JRPGs this generation, but I don't get it. I only played two JRPGs last generation (FFX, and FFXII).

Eternal Sonata is a good game though.......

Not great, but good.

79 on Metacritic with our broken review scale seems to differ.  A game in the seventies is pretty not good, not IMO, but in the industry's opinion.

Personal experience, the game isn't that great.  Granted two hours of a game can hardly justify a purchase, or whether a game is good, I didn't like it at all.

Good opening fr Dragon Ball DS, there's a lot of good games coming until the end of the year, that will keep DS sales very high. Next week Pokemon Nº1, Dragon Ball DS Nº2, Rythm Tengoku Nº3, Quiz Magic Academy Nº4.

Proud poster of the 10000th reply at the Official Smash Bros Update Thread.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Fullfilled Prophecies

I still say it will outsell the 360 version in Japan and you can quote me on that.

As I said in the other thread.  You are denying Metacritic's own scale.

According to their scale, Eternal Sonata received "generally favourable reviews."

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

"ps3 userbase hungry for jrpgs!"

Yep, exactly 22k worth of hunger.

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

The game bombed because Namco's PS3 strategy is made of fail.

It's an argument 360 users use against PS3 Owners. When this is no longer Valid, 360 Owners will move onto another argument. This is what the argument's 360 Owners have used : ZOMG PS3 has no Games (Can't use this anymore, next argument ).. ZOMG PS3 Has no decent Exclusives, ZOMG PS3 only good for Blu-ray, ZOMG 360 attach rate >>>>>>PS3 attach rate (which it should be with 5million + lead). ZOMG PS3 Has No JRPGs etc etc . Any weakness PS3 May have at a certain time (Whether true or unfounded), 360 users will just use it against PS3 Owners. And thus the cycle continues.

/sigh

I give up.

The game got a metacritic of 79, and sevens are generally not good games with our broken review system.

I was following you until the 360 attach rate thing, having a bigger userbase does not give you a better attach rate.  In fact, often times it will make your attach rate worse.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

Who cares what Metacritic says (or anyone else for that matter.)  If you like the game, buy it.  If not, don't.  Some people are such sheep.
