Forums - Sales - American Sales for Week Ending September 13, 2008

one of the problems the 360 and PS3 have is competing with the immediate "loveability" of Wii Sports coupled with the fact Wii Sports is a bundled game. Neither console (yet) has an answer.

Nothing can match Wii Sports and i would not underestimate the fact that bundling this game was pure genius move by Nintendo (coupled with the obvious fact that they make a profit on all hardware sales). Ignoring the "sales" of Wii Sports (almost entirely bundled) and Wii Play (a $5 game with a controller) the Wii is not selling more software than the 360 and the PS3 is close to catching it as well. But the thing is Nintendo just dont need to as their business models are not based around breaking even / making a loss on each unit of hw sold.

Wii is still looking damn strong. As far as PS3 and 360 goes..Who knows why the PS3 is so low, but it doesn't really concern me. I have no doubt it will get in gear again. 360? Well 90k is nice, but if thats all they get for it's first full weeek I wouldn't count on the system gettting much of a boost Medium term let alone long term. my guess is 360 will be back to normal in less than a month. if this is the case i think it was a stupid move on MS's part.

I thought 360 would sold tremendous. This is low sales.

wow with all these price cuts, coming of shortages in japan with a big rpg. and only 40 ish k ahead for 1 week? WOW

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Alright 360 > PS3. As expected. I didn't think 360 would beat PS3 WW, but I guess IU + restock just gg'd Japan for PS3.

Like I've said before, I dont think this will last more than two weeks. And I do hope I'm right, so fingers crossed that from next week on, PS3 > 360 in NA.

Wii is high, 360 boost , ps3 little low.

Glad the pricecut has helped the 360 to gain some decent sales.

Proud owner of all three consoles and handhelds.

@prosugno360,

I have the feeling you wanted to add before your "?" something like :

"PS3 Overtracked"

Time to Work !

The sad part will be if the PS3 is over tracked again and the 360 undertracked :P

It's just that simple.
