The SONY Playstation 3 Computer Entertainment System will face its FIRST TRUE test in Japan this week.

It will be receiving the port of a 1 year old bombed JRPG.....Eternal Sonata....in other words Trusty Bell.

Now will this JRPG help take PS3 out of its slump....will the response of PS3 owners be good. We will find out next week.

But we can still predict now as the time for Eternal Sonata's release is so close.

My prediction -- PS3 HW will be 12K

Eternal Sonata SW will be 80K

Whats Disgaea, chopped liver? Anyway, hard to tell, since Disgaea numbers aren't in for Japan...I guess 50k?

It's common sense that SRPG sell less JRPG. Yet I still see those kinda responses.

I was going to mention that u forgot Enchanted Arms but I just realized that it only launched in NA. I think that it'll do fairly good. I agree with ur prediction, SW 80k, HW 12k seems about right.

@kutasek, don't mind him, he's been in many jRPG threads and always mentions SRPGs and time and time again people tell him that those are SRPGs not jRPGs but he continues.

First time i've ever heard that SRPGs aren't canon JRPGs. Give me links to when I denied it before.

i know man, and what else does my head in is that people say Disgaea bobmed but it only sold a few K less then disgaea 2

i think this game will bomb. it's an old game. timed exclusives and late ports never do as well as they should in my opinion.

How about Valkyrie?

Both Valkyrie and Disgaea 3 bombed, and I think Disgaea is far more popular than Eternal Sonata.
