Kingdom Hearts may not have FF in its name but it has its characters which could be counted to what i meant in my original post.
I don't think most of the japanese folks are actually buying KH for Mickey Mouse and Co.
Without all the FF allusions it wouldn't ever had that high sales figures.

soriku and his gang believe otherwise :P

btw: crisis core is a bad example its on the psp a system with the highest piracy a system had until now.

ff13 and ff13 versus have 2 things.

they both have design by nomura, the guy have success with his game FF based designs FF7 FF8 FF10.

FF9 - FF12 wasn't made by him and look what happen still sold well though over 5+ ww.

both games are quality and look awesome so the high budget is showing.

the games are going to sell and move systems

@ Soriku

Oh whatever. I got the full OST of Symphonia and Abyss. Couldn't disagree.

Vamo' alla Flamenco more than beats every video game song ever (yes, I do love FF9 this much).

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Check out MyAnimeList and my Game Collection. Owner of the 5 millionth post.

Fool! Tales >>>>>>>>>>>>>> FF! All Tales haters (or rather...you like Tales but you don't prefer it over FF so...all people who think Tales shouldn't be put in the same league as FF in awesomeness?) will fall before me!

@Xeta

Yeah...but I'm talking about series. Chrono has...2 games but one isn't even considered a good sequel :P It really isn't a series like the rest.

Tales will always be a second tier RPG series.

Let's face it.  Tales may be good but FF games tend to have better stories, better soundtracks, and more polish than Tales

I agree 100%. +1

Not FFXII. Actually, Tales' storylines are much better than that of the latest Final Fantasy games.

How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

The reason why many can't stand the story of FFXII is because it isn't spoonfed to you guys. I am not saying being spoonfed the story is bad though since MGS series has been known to spoonfeed its story yet it doesn't make the story any worse. Can no one ever please you gamers? Don't tell me you thought FFX's story wasn't great. You people just can't seem to be able to tell the difference between a good and bad storyline

When did I believe otherwise? Of course FF characters are a selling point :3 But it's not like FF and Nintendo don't mix >.> Like FF games haven't been popular on Nintendo systems. FF games started on Nintendo systems...

Vamo' alla Flamenco? That's an OK song. Nothing great.

Needs more You're Not Alone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHsXNkI1rfA

They started on Nintendo Systems, but they sold average (Don't get me wrong, i think FF IV and VI for the Super Famicom are brilliant in quality, but they were not huge hits commercialy), FF VII for the Playstation is the game that got the series into the mainstream, every FF game sells huge because of that, Final Fantasy and Sony are more selling point than Final Fantasy and Nintendo, at least it has been that way for 10 years or so...

Not true.  Both of those games were million sellers in Japan and it is a well known fact that a million was considered a big hit.

Who cares about FF12 storyline. Huge game world with enemies on the field, lavish production values, real time combat and no hint of that prehistoric artifact called battle screens. I wish FF13 was to be like that but apparently they pussied because of fan backlash. Then IU failed to deliver.

Shit, SO4 is too far away.

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

IU was obviously rushed to the market.  Something that god forbid will happen to SO4.  Battle sceens are not an artifact and FYI, SO4 is using them.

Million sellers after how much time??? FFVII sold 2.3 millions in Japan after 3 days, both IV and VI have that in lifetime sales, that makes them hits, not HUGE hits, since VII almost every FF game sells more than a million in Japan in its first week...

FFVI(the SNES version) sold over 1.2 million copies in Japan alone in just three days
