I bet Microsoft moneyhatted them to make a 360 exclusive!

Ugh. That's actually quite possible, and would account for the "shocking" part, for sure. Let's hope not though. I'm sick of MS's money.

It would be a wise move on MS' part. Secure an exclusive with the only dev that made a high profile RPG  exclusively for the PS3

Guess than means you guys never heard of  the True fantasy Online Fiasco and whatHino and Level 5 said after it.

Hows this for a crazy prediction? True Fantasy Live Online, for the Xbox 360.

This will be an interesting confrance. I would love to see Sony and Level 5 merge, but I think this is about 99.9% not going to be the time and place if that were ever to happen. So the next best thing would be a mulitplatform release for the home consoles, but if they really wanted to blow my mind I would love to see a new PS3 exclusive. Only time will tell, but for now I am anticipating September 26.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

is level-5 PS3's first party developer.? or we can expect a multiplatform announcement from them.?

Sony Now Owns Level 5

But I dont think they own the franchise Dragon Quest That still belongs to Square

lol wut?

I would be giddy if Dark Could 3 is made for the PS3

They did a wonderful job with cel-shading for DC2 on the PS2, I would love to see what they could do with cel-shading on the PS3. They could also really kick it up a notch in the town/world building aspects.

I also wouldn't mind Rogue Galaxy 2, or something similar, but I'm not holding my breath

Impossible if Sony really did buy Factor-5.

Not too sure if there is much truth to the rumor though.

Factor-5 and Level-5 are not the same:

Factor-5 (1987): Turrican, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, and recently, the infamous Lair

Level-5 (1998): Dark Cloud Series, Professor Layton series, and coming up: White Knight Chronicles...

their official website doesn't seem to mention this...nor does their wiki (not that I trust wiki though) - where does the info come from?

It would be so groovy it is true though!

Proud Sony Rear Admiral

If they are going to announce and release the Dark Cloud 3,sure it will be on PS3 or PSP,since SCE owns the IP for Dark Cloud series.

Hopefully it will something good.

Dark Cloud 3

Here's how it is for Dark Cloud 3.

Back in October 2007, someone mis-translated a small article from Italian magazine PSMania, from an issue that came out a year before (that is to say, 2006). The article was from the "rumors" section of the magazine, and stated that Level-5 was working on Dark Cloud 3 as a PS3 exclusive using some new "Kumo Engine." However, the translator neglected to mention that the article:

-Was only an unconfirmed rumor
-Came from a magazine one year before
-Was never reported in any other publication, aside from ones referencing that single article.

Therefore, we must assume that someone at PSMania just made the entire thing up. In other words, the rumor is all but debunked.

Anyway, while I believe it is true that Sony owns the rights to the Dark Cloud name, that only makes it less likely that we'll see a DC3 - on the PS3, anyway. Level-5 is far more likely to announce DS or Wii games.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."
