Here's how it is for Dark Cloud 3.

Back in October 2007, someone mis-translated a small article from Italian magazine PSMania, from an issue that came out a year before (that is to say, 2006). The article was from the "rumors" section of the magazine, and stated that Level-5 was working on Dark Cloud 3 as a PS3 exclusive using some new "Kumo Engine." However, the translator neglected to mention that the article:

-Was only an unconfirmed rumor
-Came from a magazine one year before
-Was never reported in any other publication, aside from ones referencing that single article.

Therefore, we must assume that someone at PSMania just made the entire thing up. In other words, the rumor is all but debunked.

Anyway, while I believe it is true that Sony owns the rights to the Dark Cloud name, that only makes it less likely that we'll see a DC3 - on the PS3, anyway. Level-5 is far more likely to announce DS or Wii games.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."
