Can't really compare last gen to this gen. Games are more expensive to develop and developers want to see profit. Also no one was actively trying to take games away from Gamecube. MS has made it clear they want Sony's third party excusives so it's a bit harder for Sony to hold on to games when MS is flashing 100 million $ at the dev while Sony isn't.

Get real

If MS can pay half that for GTA4 DLC I wouldn't want to know what they pay to take away some of the Ps3 exclusives.

dragon quest x 360 exclusive!

I won't get my hopes up, it's probably another DS/PSP game, if any :/

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Fullfilled Prophecies

@ Soriku )

that counter is linked to the time/date of your pcs settings (you can test that by just changing the time on the pc clock - I did and it instantly had an effect on the counter), so because Japan is ahead in time by quite a bit I think it's actually just 2-3 hours to go

The event is tomorrow!

Just realized the Level 5 game announcements were just from Famitsu, but they'll be showcasing those games at their event.

Reading the article again, they said wait for shocking announcements and the games in Famitsu weren't TOO shocking and if they were going to bother announcing them in a Famitsu how would they be shocking? :P Anyone think they have...maybe one new game, perhaps? One new console game that we haven't heard about before? Not Inazuma Eleven Break or Nini-whatever for a console. Something else entirely. I'd be surprised since they have 10 (!!!!!) games in development but seeing as how they're wrapping up some games (WKS) and getting closer and closer to release with some other games (DQ IX, and whatever they're releasing Spring 2009). So...can't wait :)

16 hours and 25 mins to go! :P

A game with Studio Ghibli isn't shocking?

2nd party developer guys, not 3rd party (for the most part). If SCE gives a big enough check, then they will develop for the PS3 regardless of market conditions as long as it's taken care of on their end. L5 has a good relationship with Ninty and Sony, but not MS - unless that changes.

If they were second party they wouldn't have made Layton and Inazuma >.> Third party, but have some second party games for Sony and Nintendo. Third parties can make second party games you know.

If SCE gave them a check though, the game would be second party, and they don't show games published by another company but themselves at this event, and sicne Sony publishes all their Level 5 games in every region, we won't see any Sony games at all at this event. If you want to see some Level 5 PS3 games, TGS is the way to look.

Level 5 has never developed a second party title for Nintendo.  The only title Nintendo publishes is Prof. Layton, and that's only outside of Japan.  Level 5 developed the title completely on their own, and published it on their own in Japan.

is the event today?

The event is happening now, actually.
