I wonder what happened to them. They made Goldeneye, PerfectDark, Banjo-Kazooieand DKC to name a few giant hits.

Now they are coming out with games like Viva Pinata and Pefect Dark Zero...good games in their own right, but nowhere NEAR the level they used to create games on.

So he's bad mouthed Sega, Sony, Microsoft, Rare and others......... He better hope he don't lose his job at EA because who on earth is gonna employ him when all he seems to do is bad mouth every other gaming company?

I don't know if that is completely true. I guess once we see how Banjo does, we will be able to see if this is in fact the truth.


Off topic a bit, I just finished playing through Too Human, and I noticed that there is a gun in the game called the KLOBB, and that Ken Lobb now works at Silicon Knights (from the credits). I thought that this was kind of a throw back, and talking about Rare made me think of it lol.

Well Rare made two million sellers this generation... PDZ and Viva Pinata are both around 1.5 million. Rare games are good games. Banjo will be great, too.

I would love to see EA put so much work in every game like Rare does.

Rare was good in the way that they kept rethinking the way games were made and intoduced so many innovative concepts. Viva Pinata did the same but now all rare will be doing is putting out sequels, afaict

Kameo was still a great game (my favorite 360 game), of course this game was designed to be a Nintendo game originally and then redone for the 360. Looking at the upcoming Banjoo something seems to have dramatically changed at the company (maybe due to Micro$oft pampering or some key designers leaving the company, but that's just speculation on my part).

Peter Moore will not be with EA by the end of the year. Everytime one of these executives start to speak their mind, they jump ship within months. Recent examples include Itagaki's negative comments about Sony and Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Phil Harrison complaining about Sony Japan not supporting "Phil 2.0".

I think there is a deeper hurt that Peter is just not able to fully articulate at the moment.

Edit: Peter is headed to Apple to start their console/iPhone gaming division.

Well, Moore actually agrees with the general consensus among gaming forums.

Key points for this propably are that some key designers have left the company, no Nintendo to help them out (if doing a game based on Nintendo IP) and the audience that loved Rare games, now owns Nintendo console.

Rare is different and they try to make different games issue is some times the hit some times they miss. I applaud there creativity. I think Banjo is going to be awesome and count me in on that one
