Stupid 3 year old laptop, I really want to play this game.

If any of you can help me out and tell me if its possible to make my own PC for around $300 that runs Crysis I would be very grateful. I have no idea where to start.

$300 is a low-ball...when you're building a computer, you can only save so much money before you're buying components that won't do you any good.  Sometimes it's almost better to buy a retail computer for $300, because it's hard to get a quality gaming machine out of that much.

A computer closer to $500 would be best.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

I found a computer that can play crysis on high for about $640.00 before mail in reabet of $80.

400Gb hard drive = $65

motherboard with onboard graphics = $84.99

hd 4850 = $139.99 (169.99w/o mail in rebate)

4 gigs ram pc2 5300 = $60.00

vista home premium 64 bit = $99.99

dvdrw drive = $30.00

amd anthalon x2 5400 black edition 2.8ghz + case + 500 watt psu = $79.99 (129.99 without mail in rebate)

all you need is a monitor, keyboard and mouse.

There is already a thread for this:

But yeah, it's a good review and I definitely can't wait to get the game. And everyone who wants to play Crysis: Warhead should get the original as well because it will help you understand what is going on.
