If it is a case of fanboyism then I have decied to become an Exxon Mobil fanboy. My company has makes more money each year than your three companies combined. Next time there is a flame war over whose preferred company is bigger I win!

Oh man, it is on now! General Electric could totally take on ExxoMobil. GE's profits are the largest in the world next to Exxon's. However, GE is much more diverse, has much more prestige, and is the world's most respected company... 3xx0n-M0b1L is for n00bl3ts.

A bunch of us own stock in gaming companies.

Really? Then under the current market I would say nintendo is a solid investment as they are only set to grow for the next few years, although I would sell if there are any signs of the Wii and DS dropping in popularity, this is unlikely anytime soon. MS is a no go since they already have a monoply which they are greatly profiting from and are unlikely to make any great profits from other areas anytime soon. Sony is the biggest risk of course. Their future is very unpredictable at the moment.

Out of curiosity why dose anyone here care about these things? Does anyone have sock in these three companies? Isn't it enough to know that Nintendo, SCE and MSHE all have enough backing to comfortably survive this generation and most likely the next? If it comes down to pure fanboyism then it is just plain sad.

PS. If it is a case of fanboyism then I have decied to become an Exxon Mobil fanboy. My company has makes more money each year than your three companies combined. Next time there is a flame war over whose preferred company is bigger I win!

If I had to guess, Saiyar, it's an oblique method of measuring your preferred company's coolness.

If you're an Xbox fanboy, you want to hear that your company is the biggest and will spend the most money and that it wins.  Most of that actually happens to be true in the case of Microsoft, but it's only an example.

Another truth is that loss-leading strategies are very common in this industry, and many people are interested to see who has the most ammunition to use/risk in such a fight.

The biggest baddest dude in the console war is ........... IBM! While all three console manufacturers are taunting and out doing each other, IBM sits in the back and laugh as all 3 companies buy their CPU for manufacturing the consoles. Regardless who the winner of the next gen console is..... IBM cpu is in it.

GE sucks, you guys make less money then citigroup and Bank of America and those guys are a bunch of pansy assed accountants. Hell even UAl make more money than you and they are a bunch of alcohilics . You aren't in the same league as the big boys of the petrochem industry. BP, Shell and Exxon mobil own your ass (for the next fifty years, then oil runs out and we will be your bitches , unless we change our ways ).

I never thought about it in this way. I think I can see why knowing your preferred company is spending as much as possible to assure your future entertainmant is improtant to people. I can see that it does offer some amount of reasurance to people who have made the investment in an expensive gaming console.

Thanks Bod.
