Forums - Gaming - Peter Moore - Sony didn’t deliver with the Emotion Engine and Killzone 2

Dreamcast was the best console last gen. It had better graphics than PS2. Games were very fun and entertaining. Best intro logo, swirl with a tail. Sounded like you were about to dip into something fun everytime you turned it on. Accompanied by VMU beeping, telling you the controllers have life, even though the batteries are dead. It's thinking!

One thing though, he said he would have done it if he were in their shoes? So, how can we agree with him?

I think he admits that hyping the machine you are selling to the hilt is good business. They all do it, yes even MS. Did Sony deliver with the PS2? In the long run yes. You can say this machine or that machine was better but you cant argue with the sales figures. it was doing something right. I think having worked with the release of the DC and 360 he probably has an inbuilt need for the PS3 to fail. I notice he wont say a word on how the 360 spectacularly failed to deliver reliability but that is an old subject.

assumption is the mother of all f**k ups

Seems like a man still fettered by the Dreamcast's untimely demise. He actually seems Mo(o)re desperate now that he's left MS for EA Sports. A strange man indeed, but I wish he could tone down the hate a little now that he's actually head of a division that will ultimately make and deliver a lot of games for Sony consoles, among others.

Have you guys forgotten the amount of bullshit around the PS2 launch? It was even worse than with the PS3... saying that the PS2 failed to deliver on a lot of its promises is hardly trolling, even though I agree that the vast library of games more than made up for it.

That article makes me lol. Funny thing is, they did just the same thing with the PS3.

"4D Graphics"... that look pretty much just like the 360.

"Power of the Cell!" ...that's a pain in the arse to develop for, so nobody uses it.

"Blu-Ray is necessary for a next-gen system!" ...except it's not.

"Linux support!" ...that runs like a PC from ten years ago.

"Hundreds of third-party games in development as of E3 2005!" ...most of which turned out to be vaporware, cancelled, or went multiplatform.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

The two were roughly equal. The PS2 could push more raw polygons, but the DC was capable of a lot of software features that the PS2 couldn't do (thus why games on the PS2 look like a jaggy mess in comparison to their DC equivalents).

Yeah, I learned that about Sony when PS2 came out and I literally didn't have anything to play...yet everyone was saying..."Oh you got a ps2....sick!!!!"

I'll never trust them and buy any of their consoles day 1...
