the crazy price-cut in all three regions: imagine the amount of money they are going to lose on HW on all three models

the crazy RRoD: the problem is unfixable and anyone says "NO, THEY ARE FIXING IT" wake up! they have been in the market for more than 2 years and a half and it's still exist and they are losing MONEY because of RRoD

the crazy amount of 3ed part exclusive games : they have lots of that , companies are not doing this for free they are getting paid for that which also means HUGE AMOUNT OF MONEY

help me understand when they are going to be proftible when the new xbox is out on 2011??

what's the point of cutting prices and loses HUGE amount of money when u are sellling well and 5 million away from ur main competitor?

MS recently shifted to a new hardware model that is substantially cheaper to produce.

RRod has all but disappeared. I haven't heard of a case on a recently produced (last 8-12 months) console in ages. In any case, Microsoft already budgeted for the repair;s of Rrod consoles two years ago.

Many third party exclusives exist because developers did not have dev kits in time (Tales of Vesperia, Star Ocean 4). Often, intended PS3 ports are canceled as they are not expected to sell well (Saint's Row).

I don´t think they are loosing money anymore.

They are probably making 0 profit on the hardware now but a 0 is better then a minus

Microsoft Stradgey againts companies smaller than them is to force them out of the buisness by cutting price on all 360 models they are forcing sony to react with a price cut also putting sony more in depth forcing them not to make a ps4. they know once sony drops out of the console wars they can easily compete againts nintendo because all hardcore gammers will end up buying the 360. Well I guess you can do that when your playing with billions.

They are here to block Sony
AND try to reach other market.

Soon, their OS system will have problem :
1/ it sucks
2/ u have to pay

Soon, Linux/Apple will make Windows useless

Also they failed the internet deal (Firefox > IE good goolge is KING)

They failed with the Itunes/Ipod competitor

So they have to get money form else where.

Console market is just another try ...

this makes sense

i've seen some post here talking about how much MS will lose on every console they sell
they lose money according to that post
anyway we can't be sure since everyone thinks they don't lose money on HW
