Forums - Nintendo - Anyone have any experience with Wii to VGA

Im in a situation where I would like to connect my Wii directly to my monitor to play with.  I know Nintendo does not have any official support for this kinda of thing, but I do know there a a variety of third party cables that allow for Wii to VGA playback.  Does anyone had any experiences or reviews about these cables?  Does anyone play their Wii on a monitor?

Well I don't know about wii, but there are some YPrPb-VGA adapters for 5-10$. Should work. :)

edit:

Tried that, got a green image on my monitor. :D That kind of adapter worked for my old screen. So it depends on your monitor. Maybe you should just find a box that converts the signal..

yeah I play on a monitor... but it happends to have TV inputs (28" viewsonic)

I've got my Wii hooked up to my Dell 20 inch via a component/VGA converter which outputs a correctly formatted 16:9 image, leaving some very small black bars top and bottom. It also handles any resolution changes that i've thrown at it, such as playing virtual console or old gamecube games, without any problem. Some of the colours probably aren't as good (especially red) as if you were running it without a converter and it can take some fiddling with the monitors settings to get contrast and the like where you want them but overall i've been happy. I'm not sure what brand it is since i'm not home at the moment but i'll post it later when i am at home.
