Usually I try not to think too poorly of such lists when I think the creator was making an honest effort, but there are a whole bunch of entries that are real eyebrow raisers. Wind Waker at 4? Mario Sunshine at 13?  Luigi's Mansion on the list?

The really odd thing is that for all the love the list shows Mario platformers, other Mario games are way further down than I would have expected. The highest Mario Kart is at 25. The highest rpg featuring Mario is PMTYD at 35. SSBM is at 16.

It gets worse. I can basically discredit the whole list with one real issue that is basically unquestionable. Tetris is at 32. Tetris is the single most iconic game in the Game Boy's success and has not age one day since it was released. Anything under top 5 is a disgrace. This would have been my top ten:

1. Super Mario Bros.
2. Tetris
3. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
4. Super Mario 64
5. Pokemon Red/Blue
6. Final Fantasy 3
7. GoldenEye007
8. Legend of Zelda
9. Resident Evil 4
10. Super Metroid

While this too might not look perfect to everybody, I'm sue it conveys a better undestand of the greatest and most important games released on Nintendo systems.

Exactly.  No way an average game like DKC should be in the top 200!

Anyway, as is usual with these lists, way too many games by Nintendo.  There are a lot of good games by Nintendo, but there's just way too many of them listed.

This IS the best games on Nintendo Consoles.  I'm sure if it was best games on Sony consoles, the list would have mostly Sony published games.

 

I should hope not, considering the amount of good Sony games versus good third-party games on Sony consoles.
