I think Metroid is the most hardcore of the three titles but that's just my opinion.

Without getting into definitions, maybe I mean "hardcore" & "popular". I think SSBB is a much stronger title (more popular) than Metroid. Metroid is most definitely a hardcore game - but I think SSBB has a more "hardcore" fanbase - # people that will rush to buy it.

SSBB has online, casual play, lots of characters.

(anyway, I'm probably blabbering... dead tired, bed time I would think... first day of skiing for about 10yrs..).

Online is NOT confirmed in SSBB, and at this point is in fact very unlikely it will have it or it would have been anounced at E3.  If you keep saying it has online anti-Wii fanboys are going to retaliate on you big time when it doesn't.

Nothing about Brawl was shown at E3, there was only a 15-sec video. If they would even show a minute of the game you think that they would say it's online then? Brawl Online is more likely than not simply because it is Smash Bros. Now we all know its not confirmed and we all should know that we shouldn't get our hopes up on the subject, but to say it is unlikely is (in my opinion) highly untrue.

The guy doing Smash Brothers said a log time ago that he would implement online if it worked well enough, but he wouldn't force the issue (aka do a bad job) if he felt it couldn't be done reasonably well.

Nobody is crazy enough to accuse me of being sane.

If it had it they would have taken 5 seconds to mention it, just like they did with Mario Kart and Super Mario Strikers (both of which had LESS than 15 second videos shown).  Also, it's release date was announced right in the middle of Nintendo plugging all their online games.  If it had it, they would have mentioned it even without showing it just for the reinforcement that their online games were being made.  You are sure it will have online because you want it to (as do I), but the chances are very slim now.  There certainly remains a chance that it will have online, but it's very small.

I'm not saying that online will be in the game for sure, but i'm saying that it is likely that it will be in the game seeing that Nintendo and Sakurai both said it will be (or that they were striving for it to be) and the fact that it wasn't told at E3 doesn't change that. The only way Brawl isn't going to be online is if there were major issues with it.

But i want you to understand that i know very well that nothing is confirmed and that i'm NOT sure whether it is online or not and that i would buy the game regardless.

I'm going to buy it either way as well, I just don't want to get my hopes up for a feature that doesn't seem all that likely anymore.

Considering how "hardcore" the Smash fans can be (to the extremes of refusing to use wireless controllers), odds aren't in favor of online unless Nintendo is willing to disappoint them.

Why wouldn't hardcore fans like online? I would.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

I think he means "odds are in favor of online unless Nintendo is willing to dissapoint them." That makes sense.

Ah...yes. Well then....I'm a hardcore fan, and I've love online, and not having it would disappoint me...but I'm ok without it. It won't make or break the game, but it could certainly add a few million sales to the end of it.
