Nintendogs sits roughly 13-14 million copies worldwide between all the different variations. It consistantly sells 20-30 thousand copies per month in North America, 8-10 thousand in Japan and 20-40 thousand in Europe. It has increadible appeal with young female gamers and dog lovers alike. It's also (almost) sold more copies in Europe than North America and Japan combined.
Pokemon Diamond/Pearl comes from a long great selling series. It has already sold over 5 million copies in Japan and over 2.5 million in North Ameria. It's already sold 7.5-8.5 million copies world wide. Will a Europian launch (if any) be enough to overtake Nintendogs as top spot, or will sales drop like a stone? Does it have the continued sustainability like so many other DS titles offer?
